This was my 2nd time in Thailand. We stayed at the Grand President both times while we were in Bangkok. I can't say enough great things about this hotel! It is central to everything and the train in only about a 5 min walk down the street. The hotel is clean and there is 3 separate pools for each tower. The breakfast buffet is well worth it, and they cater to different tastes as far as food goes.

If you are looking for a great Thai Massage, be sure to check out Health Land Spa (450 Baht for 2 hours). They are professionally trained and I highly recommend it if you feel jet lagged. Enjoy!

Had yet another very good 6 days at Grand President. The staff are always welcoming and recognise repeat customers. I even had a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Suite as part of their early booking offer. Worth it for the washer/dryer alone! The rooms are kept clean with the cripest white linnen on the beds always welcome. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the breakfast service could be improved with a couple of minor improvements. A more efficient toaster and an egg station with more than one burner. The queue is often quite long and the rest of your breakfast gets cold waiting for eggs or toast. The windows could do with double glazing but that is a minor issue.

Room Tip: Go for early booking deals for free upgrades

I stayed at Grand President Hotel for 3 nights. Was given a room at Tower 3 which is opposite the main lobby @ Tower 1. The sign to Tower 3 was not prominent and no staff took us there.

Room was quite spacious and very clean. The room had a big fridge, crockery and microwave. Towels and bedsheets had some blackish spots/stains. Glass top on 1 side table had a crack but it did not bother us. One thing which made the stay bad was the noise. We could hear conversations along the corridors, doors opening and closing and often hear furniture dragging along the marbled floor.

If you like Sukhumvit area and not a light sleeper, this is a good place to stay.

Dear Sir
Thank you very much for staying at Grand President recently and we appreciate your feedback. Tower 3 is indeed situated across the street from the main building and offers a more economy accomodation in the very vibrant Soi 11. We are currently in the process to prepare for renovating rooms and corridors which will include carpets in order to reduce the noise level, but would always speak to guest once other guest inform us that they are disturbed by their behaviour. Thank you for mentioning that Grand President is a good place and we look forward to have the pleasure to be of service to you again in the future.
With best wishes.

My husband works in Thailand so I try to go over once a year for a month instead of him coming home. We always stop at the Grand President on my way in and out. We have stayed in all three towers and have not found a problem with any of them. The staff are great, they do not call it the land of smiles for nothing. The reception staff were really helpful as I had to change our room on check in from a one bed suite to a two bed and on the way back I had to book an extra suite due to meeting family members, both times this was done without fuss or having to wait. Yes the rooms are a bit tired but they are clean and comfortable with all you need and the breakfast is good as well. We have stayed in more up market hotels but the Grand President is like home from home which is why we keep going back and will continue to do so. It is also near to all you need including Cheap Charlies where we like to go before our meal at night. By the way we have stopped in some dives in Bangkok as well so this will always be the place for me, and I slept fine

Room Tip: I prefer a suite as opposed to a room as it gives you a seperate lounge and kitchen area
