The hotel is located 10 minutes by taxi to the center: MBK, Paragon Asia etc. Large and comfortable rooms, good restaurants, very good service. We stayed there at the beginning and at the end of our vacation, we took a taxi to all the good locations, it is not far from night market, MBK, China town. 10-20 minutes by taxi. The pool is nice. The last day was the flight day, we checked out but our flight was at midnight, so they let us leave our luggage in the hotel and use the swimming pool showers and towels till 20:00, so it was really helpful. We went to the King Palace and shopping, then we returned to the hotel, swim at the pool, took shower, had a good meal at the lobby and left clean and safe to the airport. I find this hotel to be very nice and comfortable.

I stayed a few nights at the Eastin Makkasan as a part of tour. The hotel is very far from many tourist destinations like the Grand Palace and the River. So you have to allow for a good amount of travel time to get to these places, especially with the traffic in Bangkok. You also need to know how to navigate the trains or the buses to get around. It is probably better to use the trains so that you don't get caught in the road traffic. The metro stop is not too far away.

Some decent restaurants are nearby and there is, of course, a 7-11 on the corner. There are many food vendors and massage places down the street as well so you can pick up a snack or a meal or a massage easily without having to travel far.

The room was small, but tastefully decorated and there was a refrigerator and a hair dryer. The lighting and electric are all controlled through a console on the counter which was interesting and new to me. It was easy to set an alarm myself and I also had no trouble hanging some wet clothes in the shower to dry on the line.

The room was quiet and clean and the bed was very solid and it was nice to be able to use the room for a nap during the day, while I was jet-lagged, and not have to worry about any noise.

The breakfast was pretty expansive with hot and cold foods and drinks. The fruit selection was lovely and the dining room had a lot of windows allowing you to see outside all the traffic passing by.

Conveniently, there was a tourist office down in the lobby of the hotel where the price was reasonable and I managed to book a day tour to the floating market and other places.

We are from india so we look some indian vegeterian food also which was disappointing me. a lot of indian tourist were in that hotel so if hotel improve this service a bit it will be excellent for us. but i will prefer to stay in this hotel again.

I stayed at the Eastin for an extended business trip. After some initial problems with the TV/internet in my room and I was moved to a new upgraded room, I was very happy with my stay at the Eastin. The buffet breakfast is a good quality and variety, and the Thai dishes on the room service are delicious and good value. The rooms are clean and comfortable. At the end of my stay, my company had pushed back my flights but the hotel booking hadn't been updated. The staff were extremely accommodating and let me keep the room with no trouble. There are some good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, (but avoid Pratunam Seafood which is not good value and has pushy touts). Turn right at the 711 instead and go to Pu Tu Foods, which has delicious and fresh Thai food at a fraction of the price. (I'd post a restaurant review, but I can't remember the address). If you're a good walker, the Makkasan BTS station is about 10 mins and the Pratunam market is about 15-20 minutes, but you will need to take a taxi to most tourist spots.
