After staying in phuket me n my wife visited bangkok for 2 nights. This hotel is a good option to stay. This huge hotel has a sky bar, swimming pool, spa etc.

Rooms were clean and nice. There was a problem with bath tub which was fix on temporary basis hence we were not able to use tub.

Sky train station is nearby around 15 minutes walk.

You have good option of indian restaurants once you go down the hotel.

Buffet in breakfast was lavish with variety of veg options aswell.

Staff was also helpful.

Overall a good option for stay.

Stayed here with friends in November for a couple of nights on the way back to Chiang Mai from Phuket and the location and accommodations were superb. Helpful staff and well appointed rooms along with a superior breakfast buffet made our stop over in BKK a delight. Walking distance to Pratunam and Makkasan so quick forays to markets and sightseeing destinations were easily accesible. Overall pleasant experience.

Room tip: Our group had rooms at either end of the building and all were quite nice.

This is the fourth time we have stayed in this hotel. Hence we vote with our feet. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming. The room is clean with a king size bed, a large bathroom with shower in the bath. The usual soaps, shower caps, etc
We did find the air con cold even using it on the lowest setting. English channels could be viewed on the tv. The wi-fi connection was good (we were on the 30th floor).

Breakfast is a buffet. One needs to orient oneself to find where everything is i.e. Tea and mugs etc. they serve traditional western breakfast as well as Thai and Chinese foods. There is a large selection of fruit, salads, cold meats, pastries, breads fruit juices and cereals available. The children enjoyed making fresh pancakes. Eggs of all types are freshly made by the chef. Whatever your request, they will do their best to assist.
We visited the upstairs restaurant on the 23rd floor. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Prices were not very expensive but one must remember this is a hotel restaurant! One is not eating from the street. Food is not much more than what Burger King costs in Thailand. i.e a chicken schwarma with chips cost 200 B or three small burgers and chips, just over 250 B. Food is very nice and the view at night is amazing. We enjoyed the specialized lounge seating. Concierge was always helpful. We used the pre booked free shuttle to take us to Nana once.
This hotel is very close to the sky train that goes to the airport. We walked with our bags from the train to the hotel. The sky train connects with the bts and makes travel very easy in Bangkok if you do not want to use taxis. Shopping markets are very close as are tons of foot massage places, 7/11 shops etc.
Check out was very busy and we were asked to please wait while she phoned housekeeping and then promptly forgot about us.
Would we visit again? Most definitely.

Dear JeanetteFox,

Greetings from Eastin Makkasan Bangkok.

May I begin by thanking you for your continued custom and support of Eastin Makkasan.
We were delighted to welcome you back for your latest stay and may I add how much I appreciate you taking the time and trouble to write such an in-depth review informing our potential guests what to expect from their experience with us.

However please accept my humble apologies regarding the lapse in our service standard during your check-out process. This matter has already been addressed with my Front Office Manager to avoid a similar situation in the future.

I would like to end by saying that we are eagerly looking forward to your 5th visit and hope it is not too long before we have the chance to be of service to you again.

Best Regards,

Conveniently located, at the border of Pratunam and Makkasan neighbourhoods. 5-10 minutes walk from BTS train station or SANSAB Khlong Boat station. A very well maintained modern looking hotel with polite and friendly staff (free upgrade on my second time staying there). The pool area on the 10th floor is very nice with a decent size pool you can actually swim in (not just a foot dipping bassin). There's also a gym and a complete spa. Wide selection and good quality breakfast buffet (ask the staff if you want a cappuccino or espresso).
SIA Currency Exchange, one of the best money exchange rate in Bangkok is just around the corner (TIP: they'll even match any published on-line rate from competitors). There's also many good Indian restaurants around the hotel. Plenty of massage places around the hotel too. I recommend Happy Massage (no "Happy" ending here) located right outside the hotel for a great foot massage. oh yes... there's a 7-Eleven too ...just like everywhere else in Bangkok ;)
