Compared to other Hilton hotels I've travelled it was a big disappointment. The hotel itself is nice and the location is good - despite of being on the other side of the river.
The service was not at all impressive, not what you expect from a Hilton. The staff in the Lounge hardly ever smiled and at 20:02 we were told that the Happy Hour finished at 20:00 so we could not be served...... not a lot of flexibility here. The Lounge overall was not worth it at all.
The SPA on the other hand was very good.
In the evenings you have to wait quite long for the taxis as they don't have them on stand - by.
Upon departure we called in advance for a city taxi and even so we had to wait for about 10 minutes. The doorman ordered a taxi and told us the price to the airport in advance. After a while we noticed that the taxi had no meter......not the service we expected at all. So be careful which taxi they order for you!
Will I stay at this hotel next time in BKK? Definitely not! There are so many other options where you can enjoy the true hospitality.

Room Tip: Executive rooms - even numbers have a good river view.

Right on water. Easy access to sky train and river taxi. Not in the middle of things but accessible. Nice pool and spa.

Really enjoyed two days here. Fantastic hotel, beautiful rooms, open comfortable lobby area with wonderful views of the river from the dining section.
As I was on business the only real disappointment was the fact that you pay for wifi access and you do so for every device you wish to use online. Come on Hilton really?

Dear Johandl,

Firstly thank you for choosing Millennium Hilton Bangkok, and sharing your experience. .

We are glad you enjoyed our time with us. Regarding the internet, access is currently complimentary for our HHonors Diamond and Gold members, and for our Executive floor guests in the lounge. I am pleased to say we do have further complimentary internet plans for later this year.

We look forward to welcome you back next time for perhaps a little longer.
.
Kind regards

Been to a Hilton before? Well, then welcome back.

The Millennium Hilton Bangkok is first and foremost a Hilton hotel, meaning that it offers a predictable and consistent quality and service level. But unfortunately it fails to integrate local touches as some of the nicer hotels in the chain do.

We were upgraded to an Executive Room, which however did not seem to be any bigger than the standard room. They squeezed in two extra armchairs (to please the executive or what?) so that you could hardly move without bumping against some piece of furniture.

The executive lounge (on the top floor) had a good selection of snacks and drinks and during the cocktail hour you can even enjoy your cold beer outside and follow the boats on the river pass by.

Regarding location: it's right by the river which is nice, but it's on the wrong side of the river. In order to get to the parts of town where most of the sights are you need to take the boat. In contrast to what a fellow traveler said in a previous review, the hotel boats are not hop-on, hop-off. They run by a fixed schedule and the one connecting you with the Skytrain station only runs 3 times an hour. So if you plan to be somewhere in time do no rely on a hotel boat waiting to pick you up just as you leave the hotel. For simply crossing the river we often took the regular ferry (ridiculously cheap: 3.5 THB a ride).

The pool looks great on photos but we felt the sunbeds in the water were not very practical (one wrong mover and your towel is soaked). Also it was rather noisy with many kids around. The pool area, by the way, is one of the places in most desperate need for refurbishment. Even if the hotel is pretty new you can tell that the aggressive hot and humid climate is taking its toll.

Breakfast was truly five star all the way. Large selection of European and Asian dishes. If you come early enough (meaning: before the heat kicks in) it's wonderful to enjoy your morning coffee outside right by the river.

Dear Been there already,

Firstly thank you for choosing Millennium Hilton Bangkok.

We are pleased to know that overall you enjoyed your stay with us, and appreciate you detailing the opportunities to continually improve, which we will address. Whilst we maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all areas, we will review closely the pool area to ensure this remains the signature area which it is known as. On your next visit we hope to have the opportunity to show you this.

We look forward to welcome you back again on your next trip

Thank you for sharing your comments with us.

Kind regards
