My wife and I stayed at this studio apartment for a month from May 28 this year.
What is great about this studio:
* Very efficient layout, and therefore feels spacious
* Rain shower in the bathroom was fantastic. We love rain showers.
* Fully equipped kitchen and washing machine.
* Large balcony.
* Weekly cleaning, electricity, internet access all included.
* A fantastic number of satellite or cable TV channels, even though we don’t watch much TV
* Super responsive owner. Neil is very responsive, and will do anything (well almost anything) to please his customers.
What is great about this location:
* Twin Peaks is life cated just next door to the Shangri-la on Changklan Rd. The condo has 24 x 7 security and 8 x 7 concierge/front office
* Great pool, which we use twice a week, and a gym.
* 10 minutes walk to the Night Bazaar area.
* 5 minutes to the Big C supermarket and a 7 Eleven across the road.
* Lots of restaurants within a few minutes walk, and a great find, Shiok for Food, right opposite the condo
* Complimentary shuttles from two huge malls with supermarkets, clean foodcourts and a multitude of restaurants will frop you off at nearby hotels.
We would certainly stay here again, and we would certainly stay at any of Neil’s Chiang Mai properties.
We definitely felt vry much at home for the entire month.
This was our third trip to Chiang Mai and the smartest travel move ever was to find Neil and reserve this condo rather than stay in hotels as we have done in the past. The location could absolutely not be better. It is within walking distance of the Old City, the Night Bazaar, Mae Ping River and Loi Kroh Road while being a few meters down a quiet Soi. There are awesome restaurants a very short walk away. Big C grocery store is also a short walk away. We have stayed in three different four star hotels nearby which we were happy with and this unit was nicer than any of the three. Neil was the perfect gentleman to rent from which just added to the experience. The communication from him was lightning fast and he was happy to answer any question I had. We rented for a month. When it was time to check out I asked him what time we needed to leave by. He quickly responded that as long as we had the keys back to the front desk by 1800 it would be fine. Unbelievable!
The television is new and there were many English speaking cable channels offering movies, news and sports. The kitchen and bathroom were both very new and spotlessly clean. We had one minor issue with the hot water not heating all the way up. I emailed Neil late in the evening. He answered within minutes and had a technician to our room so fast I was shocked. In his email he let me know that if the issue was not resolved immediately by the technician he would have a new unit installed first thing in the morning. This stay could absolutely have not gone better.
Within easy walking distance is the best Italian Restaurant we found in Thailand, Da Antonio. On Loi Kroh Road we have our favorite bar for a night cap, My Place, with an English speaking crowd and Aaron, the friendliest host / owner in the business. Chez Marco was an easy walk and a great spot for a steak and a short cab ride away is David's Kitchen our favorite fine dining meal ever!
From the location to the unit itself to the interaction with Neil, I could not rate our stay any higher and will look forward to our next stay in Chiang Mai.
Quiet clean building with staff in lobby, sauna, pool, library, balcony. Comfortable bed, equipped kitchen, washing machine, drying rack on balcony, selection of DVDs. Owner very quick to respond to questions.
Short walk to restaurants, Night Bazaar, 3D Musuem, many travel agencies, shops and tailors. Easy transportation, secure building in an extremely safe area.
The apartment was so much more than we expected.
The bed and bedding was comfortable. The kitchen have everything and more that you may need. There was a modern washing machine and drying rack. We put this out on the balcony and it dried during the day.
Great air con, and very comfortable apartment, we felt very much at home. We even found umbrellas in the wardrobe for the odd shower we had. We also found an Iron and ironing board if needed.
The tv had a great selection of movies and programs available. The WiFi had a good strength thru out our trip. The bathroom was good the shower was huge and the water pressure was fantastic, best shower we have had.
There was a safe to lock away anything needed.
The Security guys were good and checked on our driver when we were going out on trips, made us feel very safe.
We also found a selection of local brochures for various activities in and around Chiang Mai. These are in the draw under the couch, we added a few more to this.
The location was a five minute walk to the night market.
Bliss spa became a local for a nice foot massage.
Butter is better became a nice place to have breakfast, lunch or even pick up a few nice bakery treats.
The apartment was a short walk from Pantip plaza, good place for electronics and sport cloths etc. also has a chemist and eatery’s. Just on the opposite corner from Pantip is a lovely area that comes alive most nights, great place for well priced sea food and Thai treats, also has some nice bars for a drink, they also had live music, not open all nights.
Excellent communication with Neil. We look forward to our return in June 2018
Chiang Mai Condo rentals offers excellent respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and gave us a good break from some very noisy tourists frequenting the hotels. The condos seemed to be home to ex-pats and local residents rather than tourists although some had obviously been rented to travellers as had ours.
The unit was very clean and extra thought had been given to some amenities that results from an owner who has himself travelled. In particular, we really appreciated good lighting, reading lamps next to the bed, block-out curtains, sharpened knives, large fridge, washing machine & drying rack, large towels, good water pressure and consistently hot water in the shower. The bedding was of good quality and we slept well. Air-conditioning was excellent.
The condo is close to the night markets and the lady boy cabaret. It’s a bit of a walk to the walled inner city but we didn’t mind this and spent much of our days exploring the streets anyway.
WiFi was consistent though not always fast. We didn’t have access to the TV as the screen gave a ‘not programmed’ error message requiring a 4-digit password which wasn’t supplied. However, there was a basket of DVDs in the common room downstairs which we borrowed overnight. I used the gym a few times – you must turn the air-con on and off as needed so it’s not necessarily cool when you wish to use it but it cools down fairly quickly. We found the pool too cold for swimming. All the common areas were cleaned daily and there are always a couple of friendly guards keeping an eye on security at the entrance.
The view is expansive stretching right across to the mountains but it’s largely blocked by derelict buildings. The condo is very private with the external doors/windows having a tinted anti-glare treatment. One aspect that I hadn’t considered beforehand is that, whilst the possibility of adjoining rooms might be convenient for larger families, having the condos separated in this way does mean that you’re reliant on the consideration of the residents in the adjoining room with respect to noise levels. The gent next door had his TV blaring at times which did disturb us somewhat. Fortunately, we didn’t spend much time in the room so it wasn’t a big issue. However, I like to be thorough and honest in my reviews so it would be remiss not to mention this.
Some tea towels would be handy as would access to the owner manuals for the electronics. Also, a prepared file providing local area recommendations/maps etc would have been great as, for example, we didn’t discover the small but excellent M-F seafood night market held almost opposite the condos until late in the week. Also, there’s an excellent massage place in the alley right outside the condos run by three siblings – the best we’ve experienced in Chiang Mai. Also useful to have known was that there’s a motorbike rental shop right outside offering reasonable rates and good quality bikes.
Overall we were very comfortable here. Neil is an accommodating host and we had excellent and prompt communication from him at all times. I feel sure that if a guest had any issues during his/her stay, Neil would do his best to rectify them and I have no hesitation in recommending Chiang Mai Condo rentals to anyone wishing an alternative to the hotel scene.
We found everything from the booking process through to checking in and also checking out (and everything in between) seamless and easy.
Neil, our host, is a great easy going guy that made sure we were happy during our stay.
The condo is a self contained unit with a kitchenette and balcony. It was perfect for what we needed.
There is a 7 eleven across the street and two laundry services within 40 steps of Twin Peaks.
There is a plethora of places to eat. We found 'Butter is Better' cafe for breakfast which was great.
There is no shortage of good coffee in Chiangmai.
We downloaded uber for Chiangmai and it was awesome and easy as at home.
We also downloaded an app called maps.me which gave us a map of the area. This app can be used off line and got us out of several pickles whilst in Chiangmai.
Would we stay again? Absolutely no doubt about it.
Comfortable and convenient everything you need and close to alot of attractions rated at 4 star so i can rate 5 star after the condo is renovated in May . Hardly needs the work and is alot better than most accommodation in its current state . Usually i stay in a hotel but for much the same cost as a hotel you just get so much more than a hard bed and a bar fridge!!! Thankyou Neil look forward to staying again.
