My wife was celebrating her birthday and we decided that a special dinner was warranted. We decided on this restaurant as it is within walking distance from our own hotel. The building looked opulent, the restaurant decor viewed through the windows was impressive. There are a couple of very high steps to negotiate before you step over the high door threshold. Greeted by a waitress and waiter. We had a choice of tables - the only customers in the restaurant. Meal and drinks menus presented promptly, napkins draped on our laps, and we perused the offerings. Ordered drinks, they waited at the bar until we were ready to order the meals and were then served. Our meals were served fairly promptly; my entree of Chiang Mai spicy sausage was delicious, the accompany vegetables were tongue burners. My pad Thai with prawns was tasty although I feel it had sat for a while while preparing my wife's meal. Three prawns included. My wife's sea bass was big, covered the entire plate/platter, she tried but admitted defeat as there was too much. However, she acknowledged that it was a lovely meal. A second round of drinks to finish. The dining room decor is charming, the background music was nice but repetitive, the football match on TV probably should have been televised elsewhere in the premises. We enjoyed our meal in solitary splendour, it was overall very enjoyable but we have enjoyed better at some of the local restaurants during the week.
