Thai people are great musicians especiall from Chiang Mai. I love seeing and hearing their music. They make me want to visit Chiang Mai more often.

As the reviews suggested, we came here on a Tuesday night (open jam session). The place was heaving when we got there at 9:30pm, but we got lucky and got seats upstairs as we went to the bar. The talent on display was incredible, from 2 local kids who must’ve been about 12yo max, to people in their 60’s. This is a must if you’re into you’re music and are in town on a Tuesday!

By hole in the wall I mean super cool, super low key, with quintet scrunched into the bar so you may have to brush pass the horn and sax player to go to the restroom. The appreciative crowd regularly spreads onto the streets. I hate when people say there is nothing to do in chiang mai. The music scene is bursting with talented Thais, and there are several excellent venues. Go to NGJCoop for a night or two. Heard an amazing rendition of roland Kirk's 'Serenade to a Cuckoo' that made my night.
