This cooking class was a great experience from beginning to end - and helped us order/eat better food for the rest of our trip to Thailand! Going to the market was a really cool experience - our guide was very knowledgeable and bought us a few Thai snacks to try. The cooking class was great, and they give you the recipes at the end. We are excited to try to re-create them at home!

Overall wonderful experience with Pantawan. We especially enjoyed the market visit at the beginning of the class. Our chef/teacher was interactive, animated, and attentive. The food was also delicious, and the ambience was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

My wife and I traveled to Chiang Mai for our honeymoon and really wanted to try a traditional Thai cooking class. We selected the Pantawan Cooking School and we are SO glad that we did!

Our day started at a real deal local market after we were picked up from our hotel. Here we met with our instructor for the day, Yam, to take a tour and learn about the key ingredients and flavors in Thai cuisine. We also had the chance to sample some of the food here which was also nice.

After spending about 20-30 minutes in the market we left to go to the cooking school which was a quick drive.

The grounds at the school were beautiful. Another thing we noticed right away was the intimacy of the class . Our class was only comprised of a total of 6 people and by the looks of the studio, it could not accommodate much more.

We started by hearing about what dishes we were going to prepare and what the rest of the afternoon would entail.

We sat around the main demonstration area where Yam would walk us through each dish and how to prepare it step by
Step. From there, we would go to our individual stations (each person has their own) and make our versions of it. On this day, we made chicken and cashews, massaman curry, pad Thai and spring rolls. It was so great that we got to be so hands on. It was a perfect balance of doing it on our own but also knowing the guidance of our instructor was close by in case if we had questions. We also knew the food was going to taste great. The rest of the staff also made it so easy and seamless as they would prep your station between each demonstration. It made our day so pleasant and enjoyable.

At the end of the class each person had a FEAST of all the dishes they prepared. We sat and enjoyed the meal with our classmates. The day concluded with the recipes of how to prepare the dishes we just made along with certificates of completion.

This was a great great experience and one of the top highlights of our trip to Thailand. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to do a cooking class. Thank you Yam and Pantawan Cooking for a fun filled and delicious day.

Our family of 4 LOVED this cooking experience, from the walk through the market through the cooking demonstration - and, of course, the individual cooking and eating. Our 12 and 16-year old kids both enjoyed it and are motivating to try out their new cooking skills at home.
