I was positively surprised about the service in that little hotel. The reception lady helped me book a ticket to Bangkok, a day at the elephants camp and on the day of departure I was taken personally to the bus station.
I knew I cannot expect luxury for 8 Euro per night - and it wasn't. Little room with a fan and a tiny bathroom. But what do you need more? Apart from that, hotel's "lobby" is really nice and has a beautiful mosaic on the floor and gives you a good mood in the morning and when you are back after the whole day outside.

My partner booked here thinking the accommodation would be adequate for the week we stayed in chiang mai considering the price, we read the reviews which some show positive feedback (maybe written by the staff themselves?) we didn't stay long that was for sure. At first sight we walked in and saw a cockroach in the bathroom dead (not surprising when you see the rest of the place) then we were showed to our rooms. Dead bugs again all up the wall on the ceiling and in the wardrobe, a massive hole in the wall where they probably came from. Dirty stained bedding who knows the last time it was cleaned. Even though you are made to take your shoes off when entering to help cleanliness your feet are filthy within seconds. The bathroom had an awful smell to it and covered in stains, the mirrors were also stained. The door marked with yet again more holes.

The only good thing to say was the owner and he's friendly approach. Which made us feel guilty when leaving after a few hours. (We only stayed in the accommodation for approx 20minutes and walked around chiang mai looking for somewhere else to stay at 6am after a ten hour bus journey).

Have to say we would not stay here again if paid to. We have been in lower cost accommodation travelling Thailand and have had much better experience.

Arrived early 6am after bus from Bangkok. All locked up and we waited an hour to get in but there was a room available right then which was a positive. The owner of the guesthouse was lovely but not very mobile and lived in an open door room downstairs which was pretty uncomfortable going Into the family room when asking for help. The room was crawling with Mosquitos having no windows really. There was no running water from the tap and the shower was a dribble at best. We asked for a double but got two single beds with really dirty sheets - we slept in our sleeping bag liners. There was also bugs all over the walls. Such a shame as you could tell it used to be a nice place just needs fixing up a bit. Plus side the family are lovely and helpful. There was no restaurant to speak of and it's also a decent walk into the main part of town. As the price was so low and the owner was so nice we felt bad complaining about the room!

Firstly the staff are lovely! Really pleasant... However you really do get what you pay for.

Our room was small, dark, dingy, dirty and uncomfortable. The tap took 5 minutes before a dark water finally came through, the shower spat a VERY small amount of water at you before getting too hot and then stopping.

Extremely poor, but really for £8, 2 people, 2 nights what did we expect?

We tried to tough it out but just couldn't, we could afford better so booked a much nicer hotel in a more central location close to everything.

We didn't even stay a night, we couldn't face it.

Staff are lovely, if you're not fussy about hygiene and space then it's for you, if not perhaps look for something a bit nicer.
