Owner description: Welcome to our nature friendly designed, ecologically sensitive tribal trekking in the beautiful Mae Hong Son area that will take to a journey to the magnificent beauties and cultural wealth of The Deep North Jungle breathtaking landscapes of Thailand. Our treks are guided by the most uplifting, experienced guides and they are against animal exploitation. If you would like to participate in a real deep jungle trekking experience and know more about everything in a clear and fun way. Having seen the commercial mainstream way most companies are running the trekking activities (including elephants and tribal exploitation) we decided to take a different road and offer a genuine completely ecological experience to our customers that goes together and supports the natural environment rather than harming it. We choose areas quite far from the mainstream trekking path. We believe in a small and trustworthy business focus on customers feedback rather than a profit machine. You are welcome

Although the weather was quite warm, our diverse group of four wonderful people enjoyed every minute of this trekking. Anne and Mr Jai were great guides who explained a lot of things about the people, history, nature, etc in a fascinating manner. Lunch was quite original, dinner and breakfast were prepared in the most authentic way. The night is spend in the home of a Karen family and is a real experience. Throughout the hike you’ll be facing a lot of different landscapes; rice fields, cabbage fields, jungle, waterfalls,... We even spotted a couple of Gibbons!
This tour is really off the beaten track and is worth every single Baht. However, a good physical condition is a must.

Superb in every possible way. Remote, magnificent nature that combines jungle, fields, mountains. Anne did a fantastic work guiding us. Besides being kind, caring and humorous she is also a tremendous resource of information on the vibrant richness of herbs and plants And we had such a wonderful night at the Karen village where we had the honor to be the guest of a lovely family. Anne's cooking was delicious. Overall this was the best experience i had in Thailand.

We decided to book a 2 days trek for around 180USD per person, which is not cheap for Thailand after the great reviews we saw here, we thought it would worth it.
Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed by the service provided and our guide PingPong.
First, we were quite shocked about the transportation we had from Chiang Mai to the trek starting point. Although we were only 2, a pick up van drove us for 3h30 in the back of the vehicle, mainly on the speedway > if an accident happens, you are dead for sure.
Then, we started the hike with our guide. The landscape was indeed beautiful and you won t see any tourists around. On the first day, we walked for around 13km up and down hills with great scenery. That would have been perfect if the guide was more professional. Although Ping Pong was very friendly, we didn’t appreciate him smoking (a lot) and throwing his cigarettes in the nature. Not ok. He was also complaining about how heavy it is to carry our food and did not accept to have our bottle of water in his bag while ours were full and his not at all... He made some sexual jokes and told us how crazy we were to pay for walking with this heat. Not appropriate at all. Regarding the speed of the hike, we sometimes had to wait for him as we walked faster. We know we are quite atletic but having to wait for a guide who apparently does that regularly?! Ok. Now about the food, that was a joke. For lunch, he bought us from the market we visited previously some sticky rice and mushrooms that he reheated on the fire in some bamboo trunk while he had himself some bbq meat sticks that he did not share. We would have been ok if the dinner was better. You bet! He cooked us some veggies, a mushroom soup and a can of tuna with rice. Lunch the next day was instant noodles fried by the Karen people. We understand we did not come for great food but at least make an effort to provide us with something good would not have been that difficult?! The stay in the Karen village was nice and very traditional. There were no comfort or cleanness at all, but we expected and were fine. If you have a sleeping bag, i would recommend you to take it tho. We were able to interact a bit with the people there and Ping Pong made a few translation for us. However, he didn’t explain things around unless you really asked for it. Plants and flowers he showed us on the way were informative but not a woooh thing. To conclude, we appreciated being in the nature with no other people around but definitely think that it does not worth what we paid for. If the tour costed 60usd, we wouldn’t have had any complains. But for this price, you would definitely get better with another company!

Greetings dear. We read your review carefully and took careful note of what you are mentioning.

We would like to inform our future participants that our company is not anymore collaborating with the guide mentioned in the above review since there is serious indications of causing difficulties.

Concerning the high price you are mentioning we will have to state that the price is depending on the number of people participating in the trek and on the specific trek it was only you (2 people).

The organization of a trek like that it is not as simple. It takes place in an isolated area way far from the touristic path and it is designed to offer the most authentic feeling away from every commercial activity. With bigger groups the price is significantly lower as you can see on our website.

Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for any inconvenience. Have a wonderful trip dear and hope to see you again in the future.

Best regards
The Good Morning Thailand Team.

The first time we visited Chiang Mai we joined the Doi Inthanon day trek with four other participants. Amazing landscapes. Our guide Anne was fun, caring and most of all knowledgeable about so many things concerning the culture and plantation. The visit at the Karen village was also amazing experience. Hope we had time to do your two day eco trek. Probably next time we visit. Highly recommended by us. Nina and Kostas Andreou.

After driving from Chiang Mai to the Mae Hong Son Area we walked on the first day about 5 hours. During this walk we did not see other tourists. But we saw many local people which worked on their fields. We crossed forests and also many rice and cabbage fields. At the end of the first day we arrived in a Karen Village. We relaxed in the house of a typical Karen family. The second day began with a breakfast. After that we visited a primary school for the local children. About 10 o'clock we started our walk through the jungle. After 3 hours we arrived at a waterfall where we could swim in a pool.
