We had a great offer and really enjoyed our stay here. It was a little quiet, but it is the off season, and some people might like it quiet. We had young children, and found the entertainment a little light on. The restaurants were great and the addition of the third restaurant should add great variety. We really enjoyed having our own pool as well as the water slide, overall a great time was had.

The Village, Coconut island is a new development built in collabroation with Phuket local authority, employees local english speaking stay and maintain high western standards, we stayed in a beach front villa that was excellent value and very romantic, getting on and off the island can be fun either by tuck tuck or speedboat depending on the tides.
about 25 mins away from Patong so can go to the crazieness if you want but if you are there for a relaxing, romantic peaceful time you will definatly get it.

Room Tip: book early to get a good deal.

After two crazy weeks on the West coast of Phuket , a week at the village on coconut island was perfect. We stayed in a two bedroom pool villa which was very spacious and beautifully appointed, Housekeeping were wonderful and were more than happy to work around times that suited us.
The Kids (miss 10 and miss 15) and my husband loved the waterslides and the main pools and spent hours trekking up and sliding down only to come back to the villa and float around in our own pool
We took a taxi from the pier intoTesco to stock the fridge and cupboards, all that watersliding builds up a large appetite! we used the shop on the island for milk and ice creams as well as anything else we ran out of.
The pizza from the Deli was definitley the best we had whilst in Thialand, oh and do not miss the seafood buffet at the front restaurant it was amazing. The happy hour cocktails at the bar on the beach were beautiful and the setting is just postcard perfect.
We attended the drinks and nibbles hour hosted by the guest relations team,Chris , Andrew and Paul, not only was the wine and company fantastic so was their knowledge of the area . We had a couple of awesome day trips thanks to their reccomendations, they are certianly an asset to the island.
All this set in paradise ! what more could you ask for?

Overall we had a great stay here.

There are some issues which need to be dealt with but overall we were really happy with our 6 day stay.

We stayed in beachfront 2 bed villa with our own pool. Two storey villa with one double and one twin room. Cleaned daily although no turn-down service which we have found the norm in other comparable Thai resorts, that said I don't necessarily think thats a bad thing as we always find staff want to come in as we're getting ready to go out for the evening! We stayed by our pool mostly so saw the maid every day - her English was to an acceptable standard and she always asked firstly if it was OK to clean our villa and then when she had finished whether there was anything else she could do.

It was great being able to buy beers & snacks from the supermarket and nip in to our villa for a cold beer from the fridge when we fancied it. It wasn't that expensive - 70 baht for a can of beer or 35 baht for a tonic water/soft drink - probably double the price of supermarkets in Phuket/Patong but what do you expect?

We did have the odd power outage but never more than 5 mins and didnt cause us any inconvenience. Likewise, our telephone didnt work but we only found this out on the last day when we called to request someone to come for our luggage - reception knew we were trying to contact them and that we were checking out so intuitively sent a bellboy to collect the luggage so no harm done there!!

Food was very good at both restaurants and they allowed you to order from the other restaurants' menu if there was nothing you wanted. Only complaint on the food front was that although there was a good selection at breakfast all the meat/fruits etc were uncovered and this attracted insects/flies - this could be easily fixed. At the bar, strangely happy hour was rarely a full hour - even when challenged one evening after only 40 minutes the staff insisted happy hour was finished!

As far as the location is concerned - people who complain about this haven't done their research properly - before we booked The Village we knew it was an island and how far it was away from the town and that was part of the attraction - not everyone likes the bright lights of Phuket/Patong.

We visited the restaurant on Laem Hin pier twice and loved it both times - the staff there were really helpful, spoke great English and prices were reasonable.

Sort out some of the finer points and this will be a fantastic resort to stay at.

Coconut Village set on a beautiful island in the east coast of Thailand. We found our week long stay too short. Our kids had a fantastic time using the resort pools and water slides in particular. The staff we found were excellent. Our stay was made so much more enjoyable by three staff members in particular and I suggest everyone who stays at the island to drop in on the resort sales team. These three guys Andrew, Paul and Chris were absolutely fantastic and I cannot say enough about them, they provided very useful tips on sightseeing and tours. Some of our best times were had just dropping in on them in the evenings to say hello and have a drink by the pool and meeting other guests at these times. Many new friends were made and we still keep in contact with now. The villas were large and superbly fitted out. The cleaners who visited our rooms daily went above and beyond in the job that they did. If you are going to the village keep an eye out for the local dog Villa 3 who is just such a lovely natured dog and give him a pat. Our only complaint would be that the manager of the resort Paul was not at all helpful and did not do as he promised. Besides that I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who was after a relaxing holiday whilst only being moments away from all that Thailand has to offer.

Room Tip: Ask for a villa facing the ocean as the veiws are spectacular

I'll keep this short, as there are too many things to complain about otherwise.

Location is terrible. Being on an island, requiring you to take a scheduled boat service to the mainland means you are held hostage by the boat schedule (even though it runs regularly).

Only one receiving pier on the mainland, with a mafia like taxi service that charge the prices normally charged when only one company operates in an area.

"Resort" itself is run poorly.  Our wifi internet didn't work for just about the whole time we were there. When it worked,  it was slow and cut in/out.  Our telephone didn't work half the time we were there, which means no room service, and no communication with front desk staff.  As the resort is situated over quite an expansive compound, every problem ended with a 300m walk to the front desk.

The staff were really friendly, but had no idea what they were doing.  We seemed to forever be talking with trainees.  Front desk staff had no idea about how to arrange anything locally, whether it be tours or transport. We were directed to speak with recreational officer on the beach.  Guess what? There was no one on the beach, save other guests.

We had a spa room.  We had no hot water in our shower, not connected. Ended up having to sit in the tub to have a warm wash every day.  Our room was also not cleaned daily.  We were there for 5 nights, and our towels were changed once.  On one occasion we even came home to find the housekeepers had even hung up our "do not disturb" sign to make it look like we did not want it cleaned.

I would not come back to this place ever, especially because I am not a sit in a resort pool kind of person.  If you are planning to travel Phuket / do snorkel tours, stay on the mainland, not here.

Room Tip: The only good rooms would be those right by the beach side. The whole resort compound is like 1-2 a...

Coconut village
Concept of villa resort is there but they have just missed the mark. There is a
Private pool for each villa although there is no privacy each villa is very exposed (exception is a few of the beach front). Would definatrly recommend a beach front villa. The Villas seem relatively new the main room bathroom has a free standing bath but the cement wash on Walls of vanity area and shower/ toilet area and floor tiles in this area makes it all feel very 3rd world and dirty, and makes area a little dark. Curtains do not block out light or much of the heat so aircon can struggle to keep up, they need to put block out curtains in especially in bed rooms
There were a few power outs only for a minute of two during the stay but the Water pressure was dismal and although there is individual instantaneous hws in each bathroom they did not work after the first 10 mins and you end up with a cold shower and obviously not enough to have full the bath and the large heavy metal shower head was not attached correctly and fell on our sons head.
There where not enough bath mats and no face clothes at all some of the towels where stained or dirty and had holes in them. The villa is self contained which is convienient if you have young kids but there is no microwaves which was annoying.
Some areas of the resort look a little run down - ie decking paths need to be fixed and revanished. The Pool area is lovely looking out over the ocean and right on the beach, There are 2 water slides one very slow for younger kids and one that is a little faster which keeps kids and adults entertained. There are a lot of free activities to do on the beach as well which are a great idea / addition. The Staff are very friendly but for a majority of them their English is not great
We found the resort to be very quite and relaxing which we enjoyed having stayed right in the hussle and bussle of Patong on our previous few visits to phuket but it does mean you need to take a taxi ride whenever you want to go and do anything ( not a problem for us but maybe for some others). We did not find the Buffet diner that great. Food is not of a high standard; is a bit hit and miss as far as flavour and qlty the pizzas are good and the Omletes for breakfast are good.  Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are some improvements that can be made. And
The location is Safe from Tsunami
