Ideally situated on the very Nguyen Hue, this small hotel is great for tourism: good service, with all people knowing what they do, and all what to expect.

The breakfast team offers food aimed at South-East Asian rather than international stomachs, which adds some (mostly welcome) adventure to it. Some food was kept dangerously hot, some not hot enough. The staff is always keen to take up plates the very second they become empty. An electrical failure also occurred.

The lifts are small and pushy. The hall is more designed as a tourists' meeting place than as a business center.

The wi-fi, connecting with a nimble process, had a few weaknesses and down times.

To confirm the concerns of another reviewer, the windows in my room (2nd floor, facing the street) did not close well. However, I saw it as a minor breach of safety. However, after 11 pm, the noise and music from the street could be done without.

All in all, an excellent tourist hotel.

Nothing extraordinary about the hotel: it's clean, with wifi, good breakfast buffet BUT with superb location. It's along Nguyen Hue, the walking street, which is the most happening place in the city. It's within walking distance to the Lunch Lady, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera House, the main business district and 30mins away from the airport.

Stayed for 4 nights here. Very convenient location. Most of the sights in district 1 are within walking distance from this hotel. Affordable price (just paid additional 8 bucks for a room with a view). The hotel itself is not bad but needs to improve its facilities, have a friendlier staff and please upgrade your lifts. Recommended for a few nights stay.

The hotel is located at a rather good location. No issue with this.
However, the rooms with windows facing the 'outside world' need to be tightened urgently. For instance, the room that I stay on the 4th floor facing the Square (I can see McDonald's) seemed to be secured as there are 2 'layers' of sliding windows but upon closer inspection, the windows are not locked. I can still slide them open even though the the lock was in place. What was rather worrying is that there is a corridor outside the windows where the air-conditioners were placed. There is a door that is that leads from the hotel to the corridor once it is left unlocked.
I had informed the reception and they seemed to be aware of the situation but till the last day of my stay, no tightening of the lock of the windows was done.
Caution: Always check if the windows can still be opened even though they seemed to be locked. Check for the security physically with your hands and whatever other body parts you can use. :)

Room Tip: Always check if the locked windows are actually working for our security

This hotel is a bit rundown but worth the money since it is located within Union Square where Uncle Ho's statue is. The location is one of the busiest in HCM and it is packed with the locals every single night. It is just right opposite REX hotel which is one of the oldest but nicest hotel in HCM. the best part is the hotel rate is affordable and within walking distance to most of the tourist spot in the city. Uber and Grab is available every at every corners of the city.

Room Tip: Choose the ones with Windows
