The Rizqun International Hotel

This is my preferred business hotel in Brunei. The location is great...it is in the Gadong business district, attached to a shopping mall and walking distance from hundreds of shops and restaurants in the local area. There is a supermarket in the basement of the mall and another in the adjacent block. The hotel is convenient to the main Government office complex and the airport...perhaps 10 minutes by taxi.

Rooms are very spacious and well laid out for business...huge desk area with adequate power outlets and lighting. Booking the club level room gets one complimentary breakfast in the lounge or restuarant, free internet and access to the 7th floor lounge with good evening hors d'oeuvres. For non-Muslim guests, the lounge area has two private rooms that can be used for happy hour (if you've had the foresight to BYOB)...as always discretion is recommended as Brunei is a predominantly Muslim country with sharia law.

Cons: internet is a bit slow, which seems to be a universal problem in Brunei. The business center keeps inconsistent and weird hours...it's very difficult to get something printed after 5 pm. I would guess the property is about 25-30 years old and it would benefit from a refresh.

Bottom line: good value for money and a very convenient location.

I stayed in this hotel last year on an official visit. The hotel was great and had very spacious rooms with all the furnishing you would except. Wi Fi was limited and had to pay if you are exceeding the given data bundle on a daily basis which was concern for me. It is attached to big shopping mall where you have food outlets, supermarkets and a film complex which is great....So if you are not taking meals from the hotel you can find plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.

I think Rizqun is quite an old but very elegance hotel. I love the design and I love the spacious room. Breakfast offers great selection from bread, salad, rice, porridge, egg station, fruits and various dishes (beef, fish and chicken). I really love their scramble egg and small pie. I also tried all you can eat shabu-shabu for dinner and it was really great value of money.
The hotel is attached to a mall, but honestly, I think there are not so many things that you can buy there. There is great food court at the mall.
You can find supermarket, souvenir shops and many restaurants nearby the hotel.
Bus stop is just in front of the hotel and very cheap, only $1 for one ride.
You will get free wifi at restaurant area, but have to pay for the wifi connection at room, however, you can get a free 2 hours per day. Just ask the receptionist.
As Brunei is moslem country, no shop or restaurant open during Friday at 11.00-14.00 (during Moslem prayer time), so be prepared.

Great spacious room complete with everything you'd need, except wifi which you'd have to pay $20 for 1-day access. I just think that for a hotel of its stature in a city with not much else to do, the least they could do was to offer complimentary wifi. Breakfast was ok, but if you're not satisfied it's connected to a shopping complex with other options. Also very near to the airport which is a plus point.

The hotel is centrally located and attached to a mall with restaurants and supermarket.

Spacious rooms and clean beddings. The staff is friendly and reliable. The food at the restaurant is good too.

Will stay again.

Big rooms with big king size bed. One of the better rooms with complete furnishing required for a tourist. It is on the plush side with some beautiful wood trimmings. Bathroom could be better. It was a bit cramp but its nice that there is a bath tub. As for facilities there isn't much but thank gosh its location is exactly at mall and full of shops surrounding it. Another highlight of the location is that it is near the night market. Under 10 mins walk with cheap and good local food.

One of the best hotels i've stayed in Brunei. Good services and very grand looking. Its joined to the mall, so its very convenient. Only BND 170 (around USD128) per night for deluxe room (king sized bed and very clean and spacious)

The only downside, the complimentary wifi is only 1 hour (with a max of 2 hours per day). To use it the whole day, you have to purchase it at BND 20 (USD15)/day. Not cheap..

Room Tip: avoid rooms like 423 or around 4th floor, near the entrance to the swimming pool (noisy running kids...
