This hotel has a lot going for it. 1. Cheap. Quite inexpensive. 2. Very good location. It is on the river in a central location. Good restaurants and bars nearby 3. Good booking policy. No deposit required. 4. Friendly staff with good information. 5. Breakfast is included and is OK. 6. Safety deposit box. 7. Internet is free in the lobby. The downside is that it a fairly basic hotel. The rooms need a makeover. You might find a support beam right next to the bed

The Lux Riverside Hotel is a moderately priced hotel in a great location in Phnom Penh. However, it's got a lot of funky things working against it so set your expectations accordingly. The front desk/reception staff are very helpful, but the rooms didn't seem clean and it's noisy. They do have hotel PCs in the lobby to be shared by guests, although the traffic circulating through the lobby is a little suspect, particularly as night falls. The breakfast was okay and there was decent hot water in the showers. But don't expect much and you'll enjoy the location and modest room rates.

Heavy banginq from 7am every morning. I complained to the staff who thought construction work was reasonable at this hour. if you enjoy a decent nights sleep, don't stay here as I was told this maintenance work would be ongoing or the forseeable future!

we stayed in this hotel after walking out of the hotel we were meant to be in cause of the bad room we were giving and was just 2 min away.we only paid $40 for standed as they had no deluxe rooms left as they were only an extra $5 and well worth paying for the rooms really nice for the price and great as they have a lift.really nice staff they let us stay an extra hour over our time as i was very poorly.

Good:
It offers lovely, clean and spacious rooms with nice amenities. Located in the heart of tourist area, bars and restaurants are big thing here. Nonetheless, you can stroll on large pavement along Mekong riverside to enjoy sunset breeze or participate sort of exciting aerobic session together with local forks to restore your stamina for next journey. Good stuff!

Not so good:
Just one thing isn't convenient that no free wifi in room. You got it free in lobby area though.
Breakfast is minimal. Foods in this tourist neighborhood isn't cheap. You can find nicer cheaper with truly local dishes in other areas.

We visited in December and when we booked we asked for a quiet room. The staff encouraged us to pay an extra $10 to get a really quiet room. We were woken the next day (Christmas day) by loud banging from the hotel's construction work. My husband was also awake most of the night with the sound of water gushing through pipes. we complained at reception and asked for the extra 10$ back as the room was not quiet. The hotel refused to give it back which left rather a bad taste in our mouths! I think we should have been told when booking that there were exptensive building work going on at the hotel. If we had known about it we would never have booked in to this hotel!!
