The only negative thing with this hotel is that some rooms face a wall a few meters away.

But the rooms are good, the shower is perfect and the breakfast will leave you satishfied .
The silver river is also situated a few blocks from the royal palace and the national museum. And this part of 172 street is lively with lots of restaurants and bars.

The thing that stands out for me about this property is it’s friendly staff. I found all the staff I encountered to be genuinely interested in ensuring that my family had a comfortable stay. My stay was not perfect, but the friendliness of the staff made up for the things that were lacking.

For one thing, I booked a family room, only to find that when we checked in that the room was on two levels, with a steep staircase connecting the two levels, which was a big hazard for my two kids under 5 years old (and for me and my spouse). I asked if we could change rooms to one that was all on one floor. They apparently didn’t have such a room, but the hotel put us in two separate rooms in the same floor, which while not ideal in terms of separating my family, still was safer for all of us.

The babysitting service was useful and affordable. Although the babysitter did not speak any English, and we do not speak Khmer, the entire hotel staff seemed to all pitch in to assist the babysitter and me in communicating and to ensure that my kids were all right. (Also, Google translate helped.)

The hotel can arrange airport transfers, with someone helpfully waiting for you upon arrival with a sign. Grab also works here.

The hotel’s breakfast was sad. They’d do better by just having fruit and bread and cereal and not even bothering with pancakes or potatoes or anything else, in my view, and adding some cheese and at least some yoghurt.

The brewed coffee that is part of breakfast was not to my taste, but thankfully the hotel bar can make a proper latte for $2 extra, which I found to be worth it.

The hotel is on a heavily trafficked backpacker street, which has a certain charm. It’s also near the Royal Palace.

You can get a local SIM card at the shop across the street.

the hotel was fairly well situated, but that is as far as it goes, opposite massage parlous. Breakfast was one of the worst we had in 3 weeks, on day 2 we found we could order eggs, but the waiters did that begrudgingly. The coffee at breakfast was disgusting. Our room overlooked a building site.
Hotel very tired and in need of renovation

I was comfortable in this clean, well located hotel. Rooms are a bit small, but worked fine for this solo travelers. Breakfast included. Reasonable rate. Comfortable bed. Friendly people and nice service. Everything worked as it is supposed to.

Room tip: My room was facing Street 172 and it was still quiet at night.

I stayed here for 5 nights and whilst it is a no thrills hotel and I was sort of expecting a little more for that money!

First off the room was spacious with plenty of storage space and the bathroom was okay. However, the cleanliness of the room was a bit hit and miss. I had a bathroom mat which may have started it’s life as pink but I certainly couldn’t be described as that colour now! The bed sheets had a couple of marks on them and also seemed too small for the double bed so every morning I would spend untangling myself from this under-sheet that would have come off at some point in the night!

The staff were okay but I to say friendly would be pushing it! Tolerant of me staying there at best! I had breakfast included but after the first day realised that the buffet was limited at best! The coffee was cold one morning, another they didn’t have much hot food choices. By the third day I’d just given up and resorted to eating breakfast in the Rustic Restaurant a few doors down which did an amazing full english breakfast!

After my stay my opinion is it just seems like a 3 star hotel that has gotten dated and no one is doing anything much to keep it updated or to try to improve it. For example, they have the neon writing on the side of the building that says the name of the hotel but like half the letters are not lit up. Next to the lift in the lobby is a fish tank that is covered in algae and I don’t know how the fish are still living in there! These are two things that staff/management must see every single day and know needs to be fixed but they do nothing, it’s just left! And that’s how it feels in general in the hotel. Things are just “okay” they could be better but they just seem happy with “okay”.

I feel like whilst my rooms were reasonably priced for what I received and I cannot dispute the location is central for Phnom Penh and leaves you in a good spot for exploring the city it’s all the other stuff this hotel falls flat on. The staff service needs improving, the breakfast, the general cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel all needs to be reviewed. Even though they are 3 star it doesn’t mean they can’t try that little harder to give the customer an experience over that 3 star expectation? I’ve been to other hotels that have managed it just fine!
