My partner and I had a really bad experience at the restaurant in our hotel, and so we decided to head out to find somewhere better! We arrived at the Sofitel hotel, hoping to try their famous Dim Sum within their Asian restaurant that we had booked, but was sadly unavailable and we were very disappointed.. Out of nowhere, one of the hotel managers (who must have overheard our conversation with the waitress)recommended another restaurant within the hotel. We were dubious as we were really in the mood for dim sum, but as we walked to the venue, we were stunned by how beautiful the restaurant was. We were shown to our table, given a complimentary cocktail (well needed and was delicious), and we ordered our food.
Whilst waiting for our food, the chef prepared us some lovely freshly baked bread with potato and herbs, it was so delicious and we were starving at this point!! So that was a lovely surprise. Then the chef came back and gave us a complimentary dish that was a pan-fried scallop, in a squid ink crust, with pea puree - again, very unexpected and beautifully presented on a plate. We were very happy with the service at this point (as you can imagine). Amazingly, the chef came back again with another complimentary dish - a small bowl of mushroom soup with truffle oil. Again, delicious food and beautifully presented. Our pizza's arrived and they were probably one of the nicest pizza's I have ever tasted, freshly stone-baked in a pizza oven, very good quality ingredients etc.
Overall, our experience at this restaurant was one of the best (if not the best) dinner we have ever had, and we can't thank you enough for making our last night in Cambodia so special. The chef and staff were fantastic.
