Nice place, breakfast is awesome specially jellys!
Very nice rooms, and cleanness.
It was very hard every night to find the hotel, even the taxi drivers had trouble to find it with our map in their hands and GPS too. The hotel is not far from Sultanahmet center, but you will find uphills all the way to it.

If you are looking for a small cozy hotel with lovely breakfast, Saruhan hotel is the right place for you. It has a great location, near to all the major sights yet you can enjoy the tranquility by being in the local neighborhood.

I stayed at the Saruhan with my girlfriend (January 2012) and it was better than ever could have been imagined. From day 1, the staff (Harun & others) were extremely helpful and gave us all the best advice about Istanbul (not to mention chit chat due to the staff being so friendly). If we had of had any problems in the hotel (which we did not), I am confident they would have sorted it out very quickly. The hotel is SUPER clean and the rooms and showers are very spacious (not at all cold even though in winter). The hotel could charge 5 times the amount and get away with it. Quiet, relaxing and with free internet service (laptop available at the front desk). The area is fantasticly located and allows you to experience a true Turkish neighbourhood, whilst being a 5 min walk from the Blue Mosque. Breakfast is FANTASTIC. Buffet on the terrace (great views) with all you can think of - honey, bread, tea, coffee, cereals, fruit, etc etc. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. We have travelled many places all over the world and this is the best yet that we have encountered. No negative comments in any shape or form. Top marks to the hotel and staff. Free tea and coffee at your leisure throughout the day. GREAT!! GREAT!! GREAT!!! Paul and Marta.

A very nice place in Istanbul. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was really large enough for us, with a balkony and a look over the old town. Breakfast was very tasty and was a large choice. I would really recommend this nice place to everyone who plans going to Istanbul.

Loved this hotel right from our first contact. The staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. The rooms were super, big, clean and warm! Central heating - what a luxury!! Breakfast was a Turkish breakfast with a large and good choice (the Turkey salami was super) and every day except one also included home made cake.
All directions we asked for were given clearly and marked on a map, even down to which bus or tram to catch! I work for a British holiday company so can be slightly difficult to please, but loved this hotel and we are already planning our next trip for next winter.

Room Tip: 503 - lovely room overlooking the old town and in view of the Agia Sofia mosque (you will hear the c...

I booked the Saruhan through the internet. The experience was much as expected, warm, friendly and comfortable. The surrounding area is a little run down but did not detract from the overall experiance. It is close to the tourist attractions. My only complaint would be that the double room lacked storage, just one draw and about 8 hangers. Breakfast provided a comprehesive choice, suitable for everyone and plentiful. Staff are friendly and are only too happy to offer information. I would use it again.
