Myself and my partners stayed at the Magnaura hotel for 5 nights. Upon reaching we were welcomed by Kadir who spoke fluent English and helped us settle in nicely. The hotel itself was magnificent. Very clean smart rooms similar to hotels in the uk. We had a rainfall shower with perfect hot water. A mini bar full of our favourite drinks. Easy to use AC and tv. The terrace view was breathtaking if the bosphorous . The hotel was a 3 minute walk from blue mosque and the main shopping area. I would highly recommend staying here and will be booking again for our next stay!

Two points are excellent about this hotel: location and vibrant neighbourhood. It’s so close to Sultanahmet whether you choose to take the shortcut (stairs next to Arasta Bazar entrance) or not. It’s literally 5 min walk. Also on this street a number of very good cafes and restaurants which makes the neighbourhood really vibrant and much less isolated than other alleys in the area. We tried 4 of the places and they were all amazing except for Siva whose service was horrid.
Two negative points about the hotel were the breakfast which was unbelievably poor and not inviting (and I know it’s poor because I’ve heard good stories about breakfasts in cheaper hotels). Ours was literally loads of supermarket biscuits, hard simit pieces, jam capsules, few cheese and sausages. We decided not to take breakfast there and instead we ate at the cafes next to the hotel or somewhere close.
The other negative point was the cleanliness of the bed sheets and pillow covers. On the next day of our arrival I had doubts about them having been changed because the same light brown spots were still there. The manager (very nice man indeed) provided me with new sheets and covers and explained that some spots don’t go away with washing, hmmm. Throughout our stay I had the feeling that the beds and pillows are not fresh smelling or looking clean enough.
The hotel being relatively new needs more time to get experience and make it more attractive to customers. I still recommend it if you can get over the negative aspects.

Am just back from a 3 night stay at this newly opened boutique hotel. To be honest you probably could not handpick a better location to stay in this amazing city. Istanbul is incredible and Magnaura House is the perfect base, literally 4 mins walk from the Blue Mosque and 6 mins to Hagia Sophia in the middle of Sultanahmet. There are dozens of great restaurants and bars on the same street and around the immediate area too so you won't go hungry (or thirsty)!

The rooms are new, very clean and comfortable with a nice shower, breakfast is basic but healthy and there's a magnificent view over the Bosphorus from the rooftop. The manager Kadir is very friendly and always available to help.

Only minor downside was the airport transfer (80 Lira) organised by the hotel, didn't display my name on arrival - but I managed to get it sorted in the end. To be honest it's probably better value to get a cab straight from the airport which would be approx 55 Lira.

Overall, really enjoyed my stay but 2 days in Istanbul was not nearly enough, try go for longer if you can :)
