This hotel is situated perfectly. Restaurants, shops, convenience stores and cafes at the doorstep. All the sights (blue mosque, Aya Sofia, Basilica Cistern, etc) are under 10 minutes away by foot.

The hotel is great value for the cost; the rooms are clean, safe, include air conditioning, free wifi, but are on the smallish side. But you are in Istanbul! What are you doing in your hotel room?!?

The rooftop terrace is perfect for the continental breakfast as well as chilling out reading or having a beer in the evening. The terrace has both a covered and uncovered section, but wake up early if you want to eat breakfast in the sun.

The Grand Bazaar is maximum 20 minutes by foot from the hotel and the Spice Bazaar less than another 10.

Located in a quiet street in the heart of guesthouses/boutique hotels in Sultanahmet, close to restaurants, Arasta Bazaar, small supermarket (selling alcohol), tram stop & major sights of Istanbul (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern). Stayed in a room on the 2nd floor + the basement - both were fine. Welcome cupboard, drawers, desk to spread out without tripping over backpacks/possessions. Towels changed everyday. In the room: bar fridge, TV (not satellite), air-cond. Breakfast served on roof terrace - generous buffet provisions of cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, pastries & the usual cucumber/tomato/olives/hard-boiled eggs/bread/spreads. Welcome hot/cold water + complimentary instant coffee & variety of teas. Roof terrace was a great place to chill & watch the 'traffic' on the Sea of Marmara. We had our own 'happy hour' every evening with snacks & beer bought from the supermarket nearby. Reception staff were helpful & friendly: booked seats for the Mevlevi Sema Ceremony & booked airport transport (20 euros) for our departure. Small library on ground floor with travel books/novels in different languages. Our only gripe: enforced 4:30am wake-up 'call' from the mosque next door!!! Good value at 70 euros/night. Many thanks guys!

Room Tip: Request a room with windows facing the street!

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews here, and hence were not sure if the reviews were going to match our expectations. Well , they did. This is a great hotel, very well run by very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are good, the breakfast great, the location very good. Walking distance to all the tourist attractions, shops and resturants. This site confirms to me the value in using this site and reading these reviews. This was my first time I used this site and this hotel and would recommend them both to all. One note, most hotels in this part of the world have steep stairs and no lifts. So if you have any health issues and shouldn't be climbing stairways, book one that has a lift.

We spent 6 days here and were delighted with our choice. Our room was clean and quiet; there is a great view of the Bosphorus and Sea of Marmara from the roof terrace and the staff are very friendly.
