... then this place is difficult to beat. A short walk from the subway that takes you to the Karaköy metro stop. It means that most of Istanbul is easily accessible, less need for long walks and taxis.
The hotel itself is ok. The staff help bring the rating up, but I have to admit there were some issues. The entrance is interesting with a glass floor, never did ask what the clay building was underneath. Reception was pretty helpful. The lift however is crazy... takes some getting used to. First time we got to our floor which was in pitch darkness and the lift stopped and went back down. We didn't realise you have to push the door to open and then sensors light the corridor!
Our room was ok but looked like it needed a bit of redecorating. In places it was tired and the paint discoloured with damage to the carpet. Still this is liveable and we settled in eventually. The AC was set to warm the whole time so we left it off. Warm weather had only just started so presumably this might have been the reason for this. Balcony had a reasonable view if the Hagia Sophia.
