Went one night hoping for something special, which it wasn't. It was fine, though - the fact that I can't even remember what I had or how it was should say it all.

We save Hachazer for special occasions. If we are celebrating a family birthday or entertaining guests from abroad, this is where we go. The Chef's tasting menu is wonderful; it is worth every shekel. The food is delicious and presented beautifully.

We ate at this restaurant situated in a siding of what once was the Jerusalem to Tel Aviv railway. We thought the food was rather over priced, but interesting place to eat. Ample parking

Very interesting and unique dishes. food was excellent. deserts were fabulous. Highly recommended. A little hard to find, and parking lot gets muddy when it rains, but it is definitely worth going

The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, in a parking lot (not auspicious looking, to tell the truth), at the beginning of Derech Beit Lehem, meaning it is not near the center of town. But once you have made your way there and entered, you forget what's outside: the ambience is lovely, simple and modern. The service was very professional and pleasant. And the food is really superb: we had pate of goose (not foie gras, which is outlawed in Israel), an eggplant and meat and techina first course and another first course of veal sweetbreads, done to perfection. The main courses were two butchers' cuts with pumpkin ravioli and parsley pesto and one red tuna steak on puree. All the dishes were marvelous, unusual in their conception and beautifully served. My only reservations were about the endive salad that had a bit too much sweetness in it (pears and cranberries) and one of the desserts: crepes filled with pistachios that were not finely enough chopped. The other dessert was tapioca and fresh fruits, which was lovely and refreshing. But these are small things compared to the overall feeling. It is expensive (about $60 at the present exchange rate, per person, without wine), but definitely worth it.
