I have recently spent three weeks in Jerusalem (December 26, 2016 , to January 16, 2017) I could not stop taking pictures of this beautiful place. The restaurants were great too! It is not cheap to stay in Jerusalem, but if you can, it does merit at least once in a lifetime experience.

Old Jerusalem is an amalgam of 4 groups of people living together in relative peace. Everywhere you turn you see amazing history thousands of years in the making.

I wouldn't have any concerns about the safety of the old city, but there's hundreds of people ready to exploit religious pilgrims of any persuasion with their shops full of tacky memorabilia - the only danger you'll find is getting ripped off.

Wonderful city with friendly people. Some requirements at the religious sites, but overall a delightful place. Can be very crowded walking though the walkways of the Old City, with lots of vendors and tourists. Highly recommend.

If you aren't turned on by old Jerusalem nothing is gonna do it for you. Feels like the Arabian Knights crossed by Crusaders and Israeli soldiers.

I can't think of another place I've felt this much reverence and excitement. Negative is commercialism but make the best of it..
