This is a great Christian owned boutique hotel with a very friendly and gracious staff just a short walk from the Damascus Gate. I have stayed there every year for 12 years now. It has a lovely outdoor garden patio and several different restaurant rooms for various occasions. It is immediately adjacent to the American Colony Hotel. If you are looking for a small quiet and friendly place, the Christmas Hotel is it.

Room tip: All the rooms are quiet and comfortable.

We stayed here as a group for three nights. The front desk is friendly and service was very good. There is a notice at the desk that valuables should be stored in the lockers available from the front desk. That was a convenient facility.

Free wifi was available on the rooms. There is only a single lift on site and it carries a maximum of three people.

Breakfast and dinner were buffet. Food was good quality but it felt repetitive by your third evening.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The air conditioner worked efficiently. The room left some things however to desired. A kettle was provided along with coffee and tea. But only floppy plastic cups were were available. How difficult it would be to leave two China cups in the room?

There was a lack of sufficient number of power outlets. The one in my room did not work. A shaving socket would have been desirable. There was ample running hot water but the water when you turn on the bath was distinctly of a rusty brown hue. It leaves a dirty brown residue in the bath. The complimentary shower gel and shampoo provided in the bathroom come in foil packs which are impossible to tear open in the bath/shower. Clearly there is room for improvement.

We ate lunch at the Christmas Hotel as part of a tour of Israel. The lobby and eating area and restrooms were clean and beautifully appointed, and the food was delicious and a good variety. I would highly recommended this place.

I stayed here as part of a group touring the Holy Land so would not normally have chosen this hotel. However, the rooms were pleasant and well-equipped (although the wi-if didn't work in mine and I had to sit on the landing to use it), the food was pleasant and the staff friendly and accommodating. The garden was lovely to sit out in at night. This hotel is very well situated in for exploring the old city and is therefore used by a number of tours.

Room tip: Wi-fi in some rooms is better than others

stayed at the Christmas Hotel in mid September as part of a group.
the room was clean and adequate and the hotel well kept and clean in all public areas.
dining was kind of repetitive and after a few days, you wanted something else.
employees were helpful when approached but not overly interactive otherwise.
