“Good hotel”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

Been in and out of this hotel several times in the last 6 month.
Good Hotel. Rooms are in general very good and they are in the process of renewing and modernizing them. True some of them can be bit small. Location is great. Nice restaurants close by.
Breakfast is good and good selection( kosher as all hotels, so no meat)and location is good overseeing the beach(at present, due to weather, unfortunately inside the hotel).
Staff in general very good and helpful. Price might seems high, but is probably the lowest in the beach area.
Wifi available in the rooms, but unfortunately have to pay for it, but this is a problem with a lot of hotels around the world, unfortunately.

Before I begin my rant, let's talk about position. The location is great...overlooking the sea and close to shops and restaurant. The brunch is pretty good with lots of selection.

Now for the negatives...where do i begin? Rooms are small, especially when I'm paying for over $200 (US) a night. I don't think exchange rates is the problem. Amenities are motel 6 quality. At least motel 6 provides a blow dryer and iron in every room and heat their pool. The service left something to be desired. Door service are not helpful. I ask for a cab to pick me up at 3AM to catch a morning flight and they don't call a cab until 3. Maybe they didn't understand English? Brunch closes at 11. If you don't leave by then, the staff will give you stink eye. They forget to place soap in the room. When I called to request soap, they say they will send somebody but then forget.

It's hard to believe that anyone would give this hotel a high rating unless of course it's written by hotel staffer. I wouldn't put it pass them to do it.

The hotel was located right on the beach. Our double room was very spacious with plenty of closet space and a very large bathroom. True we faced the city, but we were never in the room for much time. The breakfast was outstanding each morning. The room overlooked the beach and you could relax looking the blue water. Yossi Navi (The Food & Beverage manager) has a quality staff helping him. Liraz Cohen & Hunna did everything they could to make sure that our dinning experience each day left nothing to be desired. I would certainly recomend this hotel to friends and family/.

Room Tip: We were on the 14th floor which is one of their "special" floors. Try for that floor, but...

My husband is a tour guide so gets around Israel a lot. Last week we stayed at the Carlton for the first time. The hotel is lovely with a great location right across from the beach, beautiful spacious room with a partial beach view, but what most impressed us was the service. All of the staff were incredibly helpful- people at the desk went out of their way to answer questions and help. The kitchen staff bends over backwards to help people with food intolerances and allergies. I witnessed them making a special meal for a woman who couldn't eat nuts. Each day they brought me gluten free bread. The food is excellent and the Israeli breakfasts are a special luxurious treat with something for everyone, no matter the age and taste. This is a hotel where the attention and care is top notch and delivered with a genuine smile, from mangers to all of the staff. An all around terrific experience as this is a place that attends to the details with love.

The hotel is located on sea front closeby very nice restaurants cooking excellent fish. The hall of the hotel is nice. The standard room I had was very small and noisy. During the night I could clearly hear the neighborhood customers going to the toilet or even simply talking. The hotel looks built on 70's so the exterior walls look like. To have breakfast all hosts have to go out from the hotel and walk oustide to reach the hotel bar. Btw, very nice view from the brk room and very good breakfast. The staff is very very kind and cooperative.

+++Clean (something rarely found in Israeli Hotels). Good breakfast overlooking the Marina.

---This has been my 3rd time to Tel Aviv. Once more I have realized how expensive, no value-for-money, Tel Aviv hotels are. Unfortunately you end up paying only for the location and the proximity to the beach rather for the actual quality of services offered.... At 220 euros/night per Standard Double Room with Side Sea view...the least you expect to be charged is 15 euros/day for in-room wi-fi access. They even charge you, cheaper, if you want to use the public pc on the lobby for 8 USD per 2 hours... Totally unacceptable. The rooms' design totally outdated... at least 70's.

Room Tip: Unless someone else is paying the room for you, too expensive for what you are getting.
