Made booking based on TA ratings. When we walked in, disappointed to see so many foreigners - uh oh, not good sign. The menu had lots of interesting choices and many mezze options. The main were very good - lamb and chicken both. The disappointment was the service - not rude, but surly and unwelcoming, which was so different than what we experienced elsewhere in Amman. The place was noisy ( no big deal) but the atmosphere didn’t give you impression of night out in Jordan.

Sufra is one of the most well known and most talked about restaurants by Ammanis, our friend living in Jordan sent us here saying it was the best place to enjoy essential Jordanian food. It was delicious, just everything was sublime. Also the room in which you sit is old fashioned with chandeliers but not over the top; it is very well done! This had to be one of our best meals in Jordan.

Visited for dinner without a reservation but only had to wait an hour which I did not mind. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was worth the money and my son was even shown a close up of Arabic bread being prepared and cooked.

We went here during our first night in Amman.
Some friends and guide (lonely planet), suggest to come here and so we did it.
The location is nice but frankly speaking, we were expecting much more from it.
Quality of the food is good, but if you are really looking for something not touristic at all, I would suggest to look for something else.

This was one of the best foods I had in the Middle East. The restaurant has a very nice, warm and inviting decor. The menu is big and it was a tough choice for us to choose what to eat. My wife chose a mix of starter/mezze, while I stuck to the sufra special lamb mansaf. It was just amazing...

We didn’t have a reservation, and had to wait for 15 minutes only. But it was a weekday, and I guess making a reservation before you go would be a smart option just to avoid long wait.
