In general It was nice to live there but there were many small details which made the stay not that comfortable. What is good: bed, every day service, breakfast is one of the best I ever had in the hotels+swimming pool !What made me feel not that nice: INTERNET is not free!!!very inconvenient! The restaurant which is near by(same building but it's like a night club with dress code)-the food was not that great(I liked much more the one on the second floor),the bathroom equipment is also need some renovation & the last moment -- the furniture, it looks nice, but the doors open by themselves (not fixed properly or need to be fixed again). The staff is very polite and will help you with all the queries&location is also nice.

Arrived late at night/early morning and wanted to go straight to bed. Did not get the twin room I had booked, and had to bring in an extra bed at 0330 in the morning. Room was spacious with a nice view from the 14th floor - minibar, safe etc. Never tried the breakfast, but the lounge was efficient and expensive, and the bar, Traders Vic, was nice but expensive. Not the best of locations, but everything is a 2dinar taxi ride away (max 2 - 2,50 euro)

We stayed here March 27, 2012 with a group of 38 Canadians. Service was pleasant and efficient at Reception & average in the Dining Room. The food on the other hand was good. All in the group were happy with their rooms.

I see variety of opinions in the other reviews, but our stay in May 2009 was most enjoyable, and we would return. Efficient and welcoming check-in, fast bellman services to our room on one of the upper floors (with great views), good food in regular restaurant and excellent in Trader Vic's. Room was spacious, clean and with upscale amenities.

Room Tip: Higher floors have interesting views of busy Amman.

The Regency palace in Amman Jordan is one of the oldest five stars hotels in town. Its surely not a five star service. Previously the Sheraton, the regency is still welcoming its guests with an ambiance and decoration dating from the eighties. You feel how old it is, how used, how dull with no background music around the lobby. You feel the broken things all around you and the old brown wood decorations. Yes, it is a great choice for the price you are paying compared with other five star hotels around the city.

What I didn't like:
- Aggressive, unprofessional or untrained staff.
- smoking is permitted everywhere without any control. In the morning prepare yourself for a smoky breakfast.
- no interactive TV
- no fruit basket in the room
- very bad breakfast choice, no fruits at all, no cheese, but a wide choice of bread, croissant and viennoiseries. You light eaters out there, that's not your preferred spot.
- No preparation of the beds and rooms at night, even though it's a must for a five star.
- service is very slow and not up to a five stars standard

What I appreciated:
- I love the bath water pressure.
- Traders Vic's restaurant is a nice place.
- lovely view from the pool on the 20th and the gym on the 19th

As an overall review, for the price, i will book a room again on my next visit making sure to avoid smoking rooms and smoking people as they are really annoying inside the hotel.

This is a 4 rather than 5 star hotel but it ticks all the boxes for the business traveller for a couple of nights (maybe not quite so much for the tourist staying longer). The rates are fantastic value when compared to the prices you'll pay at the usual suspects (Marriott, Sheraton, Four Seasons etc.). It's not in the greatest location (although neither is the Marriott, which is very close) but it's not far from Jabal Hussein (5 minutes in a cab) if you want a more lively scene. I've stayed here many times, I've never had any problems and the staff are always unfailingly polite and friendly. Plus there's Trader Vic's in the basement, which does live music, very good food and just about anything you could think of to drink. No plans to stay anywhere else in the foreseeable future on trips to Amman.
