Visited on a Saturday morning, not crowded and not too hard to find using google maps. Went through the museum first (2bd entrance fee) which was interesting and well presented with lots of finds from ancient Bahrain. Then went to the fort which was a pleasant walk, however I didn't use the audio guide offered by the museum - big mistake as nothing is labelled so I ended up reading about what I had seen later. Whole trip took about 2 hours and I would recommend it. Make sure you get an audio guide though!
