We reserved a table because we read in a book about Le Cafe and their good camel burgers. The burger was excellent, we can really recommend it! The price (139 AED) was worth its money. It was served together with chickpeas fries that I never tried before but they were excellent, too! It is really worth a visit. They had nice music played by 3 women. The only thing I can remark is that it is a cafe, so the tables & chairs are not very comfortable for having a burger.

Went here during the winter season in Abu Dhabi and decided to try the famous Cappuccino with gold flakes(as I suggested with my friend to try something different).

We order 2cups and a chocolate lava(?) dessert with total bill of 200++(yes! 2coffee and 1choco plate).

When the order arrive presentation was superb for both coffee and the choco platter however we tried to sip the coffee it was ridiculous in a sense that it was really bad.

I rather drink a Starbucks or any other coffee cafe's than to come back again.

We had come to Abu Dhabi from Dubai for the day and made a point of reserving a spot for tea at 4pm.

When we arrived, we were surprised to find the hotel was reminiscent of one in Las Vegas. The hotel’s website suggests a very different feel. We had even brought a change of clothes as the cafe’s website suggested ‘business casual’ attire was required.

The place was a zoo - with tour groups, conference attendees, families with lots of kids - packed and noisy. We have no problem with the daily hubbub of life having lived in many cites around the world. Unfortunately, Le Cafe is situated right in the middle of the lobby amidst all this mayhem.

We were seated promptly and were given a table towards the ‘back’ of the cafe although (because of the orientation of the cafe) still right next to a walkway to the main part of the lobby. Not the relaxed atmosphere we had hoped for to enjoy high tea.

We opted for the regular service (without champagne) which was 405dhs for two people. With this you received a choice of two servings of coffee/tea or one serving of their specialty coffee. The first was a Camelcino - a cappuccino made with camel milk and with a camel design on top made with date syrup. The other specialty drink was a cappuccino topped with gold sprinkles.

The tea service contained a good assortment of sandwiches (seafood, roast beef, egg, and cream cheese and cucumber) both raisin and plain scones worth cream and preserves and pastries. When we were done, there was still the molten chocolate cake to enjoy. Not a traditional part of high tea service but in keeping with the over the top experience.

The service was fine and the food was decent but the whole experience felt a bit fraught with the noise and rushed service. The sandwiches had obviously been pre-played and put in the fridge. Our beef sandwich has slightly dried out at the edges after a number of hours in a dry fridge. Our ginger-mango macaron seemed to have been undercooked and the centres of the meringue biscuit centres were wet.

If you want to enjoy a true high tea, wait for another opportunity. If you want to pay for a kitschy experience, make your reservation.

We came here for a treat on my wife's birthday. In spite of having a reservation they took about 20 minutes to find a table for us. Apart from the problems of attracting the attention of a member of staff in the first place we then got passed from one person to another, nobody seemingly wanting to take the responsibility. One member of staff even told us a reservation was no guarantee and was subject to availability! We saw a number of people sitting at tables texting, etc having long since finished (their tables had been cleared) but staff did not seem to want to ask anyone to leave. When we did get seated at least we got served, people from both tables near us had to get up and go in search of a member of staff to place their orders. There was no shortage of staff, just a reluctance to provide any sort of service - appalling for a 5 star hotel. On the positive side, the gold cappuccino is something special. We also had the scones - 4 delicious warm scones with a selection of homemade fruit purees/jams along with fruit and clotted cream. Well worth the experience.
