As you drive up to the Parque Hotel Jean Clevers you may think you have approached a very high-end, luxury hotel. And you have - Uruguyan-style. The property and main areas are gorgeous, including a lovely pool. The hotel rooms are somewhat outdated and small, however. I had a room on the first floor and overlooked the gym / parking lot (room 4).
The air conditioner took me a moment to figure out, but worked well once I got it going. The TV on the other hand, was a mystery to me as to how to turn it on. Oh well, who needs TV in Puntal!
The hotel breakfast buffet was basic - until I realized that you could order eggs, etc. The coffee was nice and plentiful.
I think the main attraction of this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff (and the pool!). They are kind and go out of their way to ensure you are enjoying your stay.
The hotel is close to a grocery store - which is nice. They have a great selection of Uruguayan wines - don't miss the Tannant!More
