“Last night in La Paz”
Review of Restaurant 1700

Description: In the heart of the city of La Paz - Bolivia, is the Restaurant 1700, a single proposal and somewhat eccentric for domestic and foreign. We offer a varied food menu that fuses Bolivian and international flavors, such as fillet of smoked flame with passion fruit sauce, accompanied by five varieties of potatoes, and own the house drinks, all in an atmosphere of architecture of the Baroque period mestizo and artifacts between the walls envelop us in history, not only of La Paz, Bolivia but also of all.

Wanted to go somewhere local and special for a last night in La Paz at the end of a three week trip with my son.
This fit the bill nicely. The wooden decor reminds me a bit of an up-market English pub. The service was very pleasant. We had some very nice fruit juices and I finally had a Pique a lo Macho, which was very good and very filling.

Interesting decor, good friendly service with English speaking staff. Traditional Bolivian food - not bad but not great. Slightly over priced but good location. Little bit of a tourist trap but you could go to worse places - La paz doesn't have a wealth of great restaurants.

Thank you for your time to share your thoughts
We really appreciate that you liked the place and the service but we are sorry that you found our food not that bad .
We always do our best so people can have the best experience with the food , service and all the new ideas we have.
We know that something we may be wrong with these new ideas that we have that is why I am always attentive if all the food was to their liking by asking EVERYBODY about the food and service .
We would have loved if you would have told us what was wrong with the food so we can improve day by day .

Having tried all restaurants in the area I would throughly recommend this one over the others for a few reasons: it's located a couple of blocks from San Francisco and the witches market so it's easy to find. The owner and staff (esp. lovely waitress) make you feel at home. Decoration is like a 100 years old and super quirky making it one of the most special places I've been to and last but not least, the food is great, I recommend you try the llama burger coupled with a great local beer and you'll be back every time. The only thing I'd say they could improve a little bit is the music selection and make the atmosphere a bit more lively on the weekends especially later when the older patrons leave and the younger ones stay. The owner is very open to suggestions and I know he will make it happen as it is a relatively new place but going strong! Cheers for a good meal and time!!

Found this restaurant by chance. We were wandering past in the street, and apart from a sign outside you wouldn't know it was there. But it's well worth looking for! The service was wonderful, the food divine and the whole place is full of character and atmosphere. Beautiful carved wood furniture, bar and staircase. Would highly recommend!
