Former German (but now entirely himself) Peter Stenger has created a very unusual restaurant that we quite enjoyed! There are no menus and Chef Peter himself arrives at your table to discuss what you’d like for dinner in English, German or Spanish (and perhaps other languages as well). He then dictates the order to his minions who proceed to prepare it using the freshest, natural ingredients possible. We had Lomito (tender cuts of beef) in a nice green peppercorn sauce with creamy baked yellow potatoes and green beans, while others at our table had perfectly prepared organic lamb. (We generally don’t care for lamb, but this was the absolute best we’ve ever tasted and we wouldn’t have minded having a full serving). As a finale, there was a nice selection of desserts, all of which were made in house. The ambiance of the place was nice, the service attentive, and the Chef outstanding both in conversation and in his performance. He's clearly having a wonderful time and we think you will as well. We’ll be back to to Peters Restaurant!
Peter also operates the adjacent “Al Capone Pizza”, which we didn’t try, but which also looked very good. Remember that dinners in latin countries often start much later than you might be used to. We'd say 8-9 pm would be a good time to go.
