“Can't beat the location”
Review of Le Ponton

Excellent location in the largest lagoon in the world. What more could you want - snorkeling, food and a bar. In the middle of the lagoon. Loved the boat ride over and back, the staff are attentive and the snorkeling was great. If you are staying a short time, as we were, this is a must do for couples and families.

We were welcomed as soon as we got to the boat. We had a lovely waiter there from Perpignan. He smiles all along our time there.
He advises us to get some tapas with our cocktails, just divine!
We had a very nice relaxing time on the sun bed. The lunch was lovely.
But scuba diving is not so great. The water is not as blue as in some of the islands around noumea. But it is nice to be able to swim and getting back on the sun bed.
I would recommend a morning with girls for chatting and laughing.

Had a brilliant day. Picked up by boat even that was an exciting ride to the ponton. excellent hosts friendly and accommodating. Reef is almost under the ponton. Clouds of fish to float amongst. Huge lunch meal. Prawns and fish delicious. Will definitely do again. My favourite day.

A restaurant in the middle of the sea, that you can approach only by boat. A small menu place but with very good quality of food. We have tried seafood , bouillabaisse was excellent, a plate of shrimps that was also delicious and a plate with fish that was also good.
Before and after the lunch you can do anything you want , like snorkeling, swimming, even a "siesta" on the huge couches for the people that like to take a rest.
The waiters and the people who work there are polite and smiling. And when we asked for a small plate just to try, they did it without any complains.
The only problem that can change the beautiful image, is the rude (but really rude!!!) guy who transfer you there with his boat ( in case that you don t have your own,and you are a tourist there ,like I am). If you can find another way to visit this place , and avoid this guy (who works on the restaurant) it would be better for your experience.
