Description: The Pot Luck Training Restaurant is based on the campus of the`Ahopanilolo Technical Institute (ATI). Providing the ATI's hospitality and tourism students with the opportunity to hone their practical skills and gain valuable insights into food production, presentation and customer service in a 'real-life' supportive environment. Guests are provided with delicious food, friendly service, live entertainment, and the chance to support the development of Tonga's tourism industry and the training of its upcoming students. Of most notable mention is the Pot Luck's special dinner events, held on the 2nd and last Monday of each month from March - October. In addition to a three-course-meal, you'll also be treated to an evening entertainment program consisting of cultural dancing and a live student band.

I stumbled upon a flyer about this place in town and called to try and book a seat, I couldn't get a table but I was able to share with a lovely local Tongan lady which was even better! The three course menu was very good value for money and very high quality for a training school, it also offered good alternative options for dietary requirements. The staff were very friendly albeit a little shy, which means this place is invaluable to their development. The live band and dancers were also fantastic. Going to this restaurant was one of the highlights of my trip, I would just say advertise it more broadly to other tourists via hotels, they would also love it!!

I've been to this training restaurant several times over the past 3 years. I have always enjoyed my meals, which are very professionally presented. The waiting staff are attentive and try very hard to make your dining experience a great one. The price is cheap for such a high quality 3 course meal. Great job by all of the hard working students

If you're looking for a place for an authentic Tongan experience, try 'Ahopanilolo Pot Luck Restaurant. The staff here are all training in hospitality and they are very attentive but can sometimes be shy so give them a chance! The food is really great value for money - for TOP$30 you get a delicious three course meal and get your choice of two options per course. There's traditional entertainment through the night - dancing and singing which is also nice with dinner. If it's a nice night try and get a table outside. It's a great Tongan experience that runs twice a month on the second and last Monday of every month.

All the staff at Potluck are training in the respective hospitality roles. They run the Potluck restaurant twice per month for a chance to put their skills into practice. I have been a few times and have always enjoyed myself. It's really nice to see the students trying their hardest, and I have seen improvement each time I've gone back. The meal is great value for three courses, and the entertainment is great.
BYO beer and wine at no charge.

It is cheap, but the food isn't always up to standard and the service needs work. If you go there, tell them how you want to be served. that will help.
