Eratap Beach Resort deserves its place among Trip Advisor's top reviewed hotels in Vanuatu. My partner and I wanted to relax, and we couldn't have picked a better place to do it...and all 2.5 hours flight from Brisbane (a little over 3 from Sydney).
The separate villas are all beachfront, well laid out, roomy and very comfortable. It's a small resort with only 12 villas, and this makes it perfect for a quiet break (kids are allowed only at particular times of year). The staff are very friendly, relaxed and attentive, and the restaurant serves wonderful, fresh food, including local seafood. It's a small menu, but there were two specials for every lunch and dinner, so you wouldn't want for choice.
The spa also has a small but appropriate service menu, and the open-air treatment room is great. Nothing better to relax to than the (natural) sound of lapping waves a few metres from your head.
The beach too is lovely. The sand is white, the water crystal clear and warm, and there was enough coral and sea life even close to shore to keep us happy.
There are daily activities or transfers to Port Vila town organised daily if you want to do more than relax. We didn't.
We only had 4 days for our break, and Eratap was ideal. We'd go back in an instant.More
