Beautiful outdoor area on the lagoon. Choice of 2 swimming pools. Standard hotel room with the usual amenities. Hotel was full of Australian tourists. Staff were friendly. Food was ok, but expensive. We had to wait a long time for our dinner, both to order and also to receive our food and drinks. Staff could do with some training in this area. We stayed here before our transfer to Tanna Island. One night was enough, but only because we prefer resort style accommodation rather than a hotel room.

Hello AmyJ2594,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback about your stay at our hotel.

We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of service and I'm sorry to hear that you've waited a long time for your dinner to be served at the restaurant. This is not the experience we want you to remember us.

I shared this with our hotel management and trust that corrective measures and training will be given to the concerned staff, so better service will be sorted out.

On the brighter side, we're delighted that you had a great time with our resort amenities. I'll make sure to let our staff know that you were pleased with their customer service!

We value the trust you've given us. I hope you'll come to visit us again and show you our commitment to providing an exceptional experience.

All the best,

Jomar M.

We stayed here for 12 days. First time in Vanuatu. The staff were excellent on our arrival and we were shown our room straight away. We asked to be changed to a ground floor room due to having young children and staff obliged immediately. All the staff were fantastic and the kids got to know the restaurant, bar and kids club staff very well. Facilities are great and the choice of sports activities was fantastic. Kayaking, SUP, Catamaran and then tennis courts, basket ball, bocci, golf and many more. The sports guys were great fun. Pools were clean and the kids had a ball playing in the afternoon sun.

Unfortunately there are no local shops just around the corner and the hotel is a little isolated if you want to go and buy some snacks. The food quality in the restaurants is pretty good but the menus are pretty stagnant and price is real issue. Be prepared to spend a few dollars every meal. Kids do eat free and probably ate better than we did but again the menu became a little limiting even for the little ones.

Rooms were clean and tidy, nothing spectacular but comfortable with good hot water and plenty of storage space. We did like the fact that the pillows had “soft” or “firm” stitched on them and they were very comfortable.

Any requests we had were quickly addressed although there seemed to be some confusion between the staff about ordering off the different menus. You are able to order from any menu (pool bar, lobby and restaurant) from the restaurant itself. The hotel also offers some food and drink inclusive packages and it’s probably worth researching these prior to your arrival as they could save you a pretty penny or two.

Access from the hotel to town was relatively easy with taxis and buses available out the front of the hotel.

Overall we had a great holiday with our kids and it was the first time we have ever been to Vanuatu and are very much looking forward to coming back. Holiday Inn made our stay very comfortable and we had a great time at the resort. 4/5

Room tip: Lagoon view ground floor... great for kids.

No 1 - staff and management are excellent. This may not be the newest resort in Vanuatu but it is clean, the meals are good, the staff AND management are attentive and the facilities and grounds are good. We had a Bure which was a 5 minute walk to the resort (good for exercise). A bus was available at all times. The Bure was spacious and quiet. The resort is a bit tired looking but scratch the surface and it is quite good. Breakfast - excellent. Other meals were a bit hit and miss but we talked to the management about it and they lifted and others noticed as well. The weather let us down as it rained for 5 of the 6 days we were there but the last day was great and yes, into the pool. Would I go there again? Probably not as we like moving around and experiencing different places. Would I recommend Holiday Inn - definitely but if you have any issues or complaints, talk to the staff and management - they DO listen. There is no doubt Vanuatu is a lovely place with wonderful people. A tip is to get a driver for the day and share with another couple, 10,000V for a couple becomes 14,000V for 4 and you have someone all day!! Far better than the tour companies.

After a 6 night stay I would definitely come back. We were greater in typical island fashion and made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately there was a strange smell to our rooms and asked to be shifted. This was no problem and Janet did a wonderful job of taking care of that. They took care of our bags so we could go straight into enjoying the Port Villa life style. The room was pretty standard but was very clean and the 24 service was always on hand if we had any needs. Sam was able to hook up certain tours at discounted prices that were more focused around our needs and timings than the pre booked tours. Taxis from the hotel were 700 vt around $10nz. I would note that you should always confirm the price before getting in. This also goes for the buses that are 1.50vt around $2 each. We were stung a couple of times by not asking and getting asked for more. Once by the Holiday Inn Taxi that was a real shame (1000). We only ate once at hotel while waiting for our airport transfer. The food was pretty average, the calamari appeared to be the frozen rings you buy from the supermarket and deep fry them. The fish tacos were a one to two bite affair that were just a fish bite wrapped in a taco. But we generally didn’t eat here due to the prices. Far to expensive.
The real joy was the beach on the doorstep with two pools, free kayaks, paddle boards, golf clubs (small 9 hole golf course) tennis, basketball, volleyball, sail boat. A great place for kids with a bouncy castle and pool great for kids. Anyways, a great stay and if you like gambling the Palms Casino is 50m from the front door. I haven’t put other photos of the hotel itself because I couldn’t do it justice. The website is a fair reflection of the look of the Holiday Inn.

The holiday inn is situated on a lagoon with stunning views and the hotel offers free snorkelling off the beach, kayaking and catamaraning to explore the lagoon. The staff were extremely friendly always greeting me with a smile. Breakfast was available from 7 to 10am which allowed us to wake up leisurely or indulge in a swim before hand. The hotel was a short distance from town, easily accessible by cab or a 30min walk.
