Perfect home for our group of 5 adults and 2 teenagers. Plenty of space for everyone inside and out. The pool got a lot of use. The house had everything you required including books to read.
Anna came daily to tend to the house and was very helpful with anything we needed. The Reef House is about 30 minutes from Vila so a rental is recommended if you want to be independent, but transport can be arranged including airport transfers.
Tamanu On The Beach Resort is just down the road and can arrange pick-up if wanting to have lunch or dinner there.
Stunning location, tranquil and scenic, enjoying sunset views in the evening. The house offers wonderful communal space with plenty of lounges to relax on; multiple dining areas; well equipped large kitchen with great walk in pantry; huge grassy area for our grand kids to run around on; canoes, snorkelling equipment, reef shoes on offer; hammocks, outdoor lounges, bean bag lounges were well used for relaxation; our adult kids loved the fire pit down by the water and we all loved the outdoor bath.
Anna, the lovely housekeeper with a beautiful smile, graciously looked after us and was a delight to have around in the mornings - the kids loved her!
The snorkeling out the front of the Reef House was fantastic - better than we experienced at the Barrier Reef recently.
We appreciated the architectural design with high ceilings, doors you could roll back for an open vista, cool "industrial" vibe, multiple bathrooms and generous living space.
Recommend hiring a car or van to explore. It's an easy trip into Port Vila to stock up on supplies.
Our stay at the Reef House exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend. The owner Glen was so helpful and a pleasure to communicate with.
This was our family's second stay at the Reef house and again it was a magnificent stay. The grounds were immaculate and pool was a refreshing temperature to cool down after a long day of exploring. The location is perfect for any large families to chill out and relax and recharge. We will definitely be looking to stay in the future.
We stayed at the reef house last week as a group of 10 to celebrate my parents 60th birthday. We had researched the perfect place to stay for months and the reef house seemed to tick all the boxes.
One of the main reasons for choosing the reef house was the wifi as my brother and his wife run a business and needed internet access whilst they were away. Unfortunately the wifi did not work the entire time we were there. We advised the staff on the first day it wasn’t working to which nothing was done. We kept trying to log in daily and eventually a message come up that the bill had not been paid!
On the very first night we arrived we went to shower after a long day of travelling. Only to find there was no hot water! A few of the boys tried to get it working for at least an hour before deciding there was something wrong with the hot water system and would have to wait until morning to have it fixed. Luckily this was attended to quickly but was a major inconvenience to have that happen on the first night.
Following that the TV would only work intermittently with often all channels being lost and having to spend hours trying to retune the tv. Also, most of the DVD’s are pirated copies and don’t work in the DVD player or in laptops. Another inconvenience given the fact that the TV was often not working and we were travelling with young kids. Lastly, on ou second last day we asked the staff if they could arrange a transfer to the airport the next day. They were more than happy to organise this for us and assured us it had been done. We all assembled out the front of the house at the designated pick up time on the day we were leaving. We waited for half an hour for our ride to arrive but no one showed up! Luckily we had a number for another driver we had used a few days beforehand who came to the rescue. We only just made it to the airport on time!
The property was lovely but these few issues made the experience a little disappointing considering the money we paid to stay there you would expect everything to be working.
I chose this beautiful house to spend 6 days with 6 of my favourite girlfriends to celebrate my 50th birthday and could not have chosen better. The house and grounds were amazing, it lived up to the beautiful pictures and was even lovelier in real life. The house was airy and spacious and every amenity was there. The staff were beautiful and kind and made sure all our needs were met - lifting the kayaks down to the private reef beach, daily massages, cutting the coconuts for us daily to have fresh coconut water and flesh, and even stopping us doing our own washing and insisting on doing it for us !!!!! We have all come back totally relaxed and refreshed. The information given by Glen prior to and on arrival was much appreciated and should be heeded - e.g. hire a car as this gives you the flexibility and freedom if you want to leave the house (which you really don't want to much at all!!!)
10 out of 10 experience in every way. I can't wait to go back one day.
We spent 5days at the Reef House, Vanuatu at end of May and had a fantastic time.
It is one of those places that upon arrival you realise the the photos on the website don’t do justice to the real experience.
Such a delight. There were on the four of us (2 couples) so many of the bedrooms lay idle.
The house is spacious and extremely well equipped , It is so comfortable and the relaxed island decor blends beautifully with the direct beachfront setting.
Big comfy lounges, expansive dining tables, a library of books and dvds to choose from. The Wifi is excellent.
There are plenty of areas to find that perfect spot to relax and read or suntan (or both)!
There is the hammock , outdoor bath (big enough for 2), sun lounges, grassy lawn or beach to choose from.
The outdoor barbecue is a dream and perfect for cooking local beef or seafood (or fish was caught whilst out fishing).
The beachside fireplace made a fantastic bonfire on our last night of celebrations! The evening sunsets are glorious.
Go there and visit the nearby stunning white sandy beach of Eton and famous Blue lagoon swimming hole.
There are fabulous restaurants nearby including Tamanu sands and Eratap Resorts -fantastic fresh modern cuisine using local produce.
Close to Port Vila yet far enough away to be secluded, tranquil, relaxing. The only sounds were heard apart from our own voices, were birds and the waves. Spacious property with all conveniences. Nice swimming pool and if the tides are right you can venture into the bay for swimming and snorkling. We self catered buying supplies at Bon Marche supermarket in Port Vila but you could eat at nearby restaurants. The staff supplied lots of fresh fruit - pawpaw, bananas, grapefruit, limes for our use. Pantry was well stocked with staples but we took meat, vegetables and copious amounts of wine for our stay. Go to the markets for lots of the freshest vegetables and salad requirements - beware some things are very expensive eg Lettuce $12 !! The house came with books, dvds, tv and games. The staff kept everywhere clean and tidy for us yet remained in the background. The outdoor bath was a bonus - lots of hot water and we added bath salts and fresh flowers - very decadent ! Came home feeling very very relaxed.
