We stayed in the Lagoon Chalet, the view from the room was lovely. The spa looked out onto the lagoon. Room had a Kitchenette, TV, DVD player. The pool was nice and overlooked the lagoon. The Lodge was within walking distance to town.

Just had 9 wonderful days at Seachange Lodge & loved it. We stayed in the Garden View Cottage which was a perfect size for 2 adults & 3 children aged 16, 14 & 11. It was spacious with 2 bathrooms and a good kitchen for self catering. This was handy as eating out all the time would have been too expensive. Seachange overlooks beautiful Erakor Lagoon, which we could see from our balcony. Our room was quiet & private & we felt like we were the only people staying, although we were'nt, because we could not see the other accomodation from our balcony. Rick & Wendy were very friendly & helpful & went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. They provided interesting local information & suggestions for things to see & do that catered to our budget. The biggest supermarket in Vila is just 5 mins walk away & the town centre a lazy 15 min walk (or you could hail a bus right outside the front gate. Emily's Restaurant was our greatest find (just 5 mins walk towards town). Take a torch if going for dinner to avoid the pot holes in the road & minimal street lighting. We felt very safe at night in this suburban type area & the locals would often greet us with a friendly 'goodnight' as we walked. Emily's was a great place to eat dinner with Asian type food for $10 Aus or a full roast dinner for $15 Aus. This is cheap for Vila & the food was delicious. We liked their green curry & goreng. Seachange is a lovely place to stay if you want somewhere private & quiet (we are not into resorts). We felt very safe the whole time & the gates are locked at night. The kids loved the pool as I sipped tea in a deck chair watching the sun set. Rick & Wendy provide a glass bottom canoe & motorised boat which hubby & kids took to Erakor Island for some snorkling. We fell in love with Vanuatu & were glad we chose Seachange because we felt so looked after.

We stayed in the garden cottage. Seachange Lodge is supposed to be 4 star and possibly is by Vanuatu standards but would struggle by Australian standards. A few things need a bit of TLC and the hot water system is a challenge but that aside it does have a lot to recommend it. The location is great. Very quiet and private area and easy walking distance to town and to lots of restaurants, supermarkets etc. Beautiful gardens and everything very clean and comfortable. Hosts Rick and Wendy are very friendly and helpful. You do need to understand that this is completely self catering. Rick and Wendy don't provide food apart from a basic breakfast on the first day. That suited us and there is no problem buying food etc but it might not suit everyone. Also if you want a decent swimming pool on site this is not the place for you. There is a pool but it is not very big.

My partner and I stayed at Seachange on a recent holiday and very impressed. The location is excellent - 15 min walk to town or cheap bus ride, adjacent to the lagoon with beautiful views, very quiet at night. All rooms were clean and nice, but the room we had booked was upgraded simply because a larger room was available. Having a kitchen was really helpful as we were able to self-cater our breakfasts and didn't feel that we had to go out for dinner every night - although there are some lovely restaurants nearby, I recommend Mangoes and L'Houstalet. The pool was lovely with views of the lagoon. The hosts Rick and Wendy were very friendly and helpful, offering great advice and assistance with our travel plans. They also offered us the use of their kayak and dinghy. We took the dinghy to Erakor Island for lunch, which was beautiful. Compared to other places in Port Vila, Seachange seems like great value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone!

We've just come back from a week in Vanuatu staying at Seachange lodge, and it was the perfect choice for a relaxing getaway. The owners are lovely, and very helpful. Seachange is an easy walk into town or to the supermarket. Its also right on the edge of the lagoon so its a beautiful view to wake up to each morning. I recommend borrowing the glass bottom kayak and paddling up the lagoon for breakfast at another hotel one day.

We stayed with Rick & Wendy for one week, due to very late booking and room availability we had 5 days in the Garden Cottage & the last 2 days in a Studio apartment. Both were clean & well appointed with queen sized beds, kitchen, bathroom (an additional en-suite sized one opp. the second bedroom in the Garden Cottage), satellite TV, DVD player and wide choice of DVD's available, all set in beautiful tropical gardens with a small pool and access to Erakor Lagoon for swimming, or by the supplied clear polycarbonate 'canoe' or small runabout available to guests. Its also only a short walk to to a supermarket, bakery and several restaurants, whilst being in a quiet suburban neighborhood and walking distance to town (15-20 mins downhill, VT150 per person gets you back by the very accommodating local buses).
The only downside was that the Studio had no a/c and Garden Cottage only has it in one of the two bedrooms (which didn't bother us). When we switched rooms to the Studio for the last 2 days we really noticed the difference in the lack of a/c, as the high humidity and average temp. in January can make for somewhat uncomfortable nights without it. Our hosts Rick & Wendy were exceptionally helpful, offering advice on what to see and do and making any bookings we required & making sure our transports were there at the duly appointed times (On the day we left Rick was up at 5am to make sure we had our transport to the airport). The Lelepa Island tour is recommended (just make sure you snorkel the blue hole from the boat) and the Melanesian feast is a lesson in cultue and a bit of fun. To get to Seachange from the airport and for island tours & transportation we highly recommend Moses (moses_culturaltour@yahoo.com.au), cheaper than the airport taxi's and very helpful and accommodating.
Staying with Rick & Wendy at Seachange was a real delight & somewhere we will gladly return to .

Just got back from a fun fill trip to Vanuatu. During our time in Port Vila we stayed at Seachange Lodge, this was my second time staying here and after staying at similar priced self contained accommodation in Port Vila I can’t speak highly enough of Seachange Lodge.

We stayed in the Garden Lodge, it is beautifully decked out two bedroom two bathroom place, very modern and has everything you need. The supply of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, jams, and cereals on arrival is a real treat as not everywhere in Vanutau thinks of these little things that make a big difference. Heaps of towels in the bathrooms is a bonus too. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with pot and pans etc. The gardens are amazing, the pool looked inviting (it rained a lot so we didn’t use it). Seachange Lodge is not too far from town we often walked into town and got a bus or taxi back, is very close to a few restaurants and bars and is very handy to the supermarket. There was lot of up to date information regarding tours and activities as well at the lodge.

I can highly recommend this place, I will be staying here again on my next visit to Vanuatu.
