Description: Au Faré Restaurant is a well known French Restaurant in Port Vila. A mix of island cuisine and the "savoir faire" of the French gastronomy. You will find here fresh seafood direct from the ocean, organic meat from Vanuatu, and delicious pizzas. You will also find coconut crabs from the personal livestock of the owner Romuald. Come and enjoy great food and a beautiful ocean view!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable ladies luncheon at Au Fare, mid week, on a beautiful day. The friendly service more than capably handled a table of ten people and provided guidance on meal size and contents. I highly recommend the pork rib tapas (approx AU$10) and the warm goat cheese salad (AU$17), delicious and so filling I had to forgo a very appealing dessert menu. Others at the table enjoyed the fish and steak choices. There are also vegetarian choices available. You can BYOB with a corkage fee. The view of Port Vila harbour is a great addition to the menu as is the traditionally thatched natangora ceiling.
Au Fare is within easy walking distance from Fatumaru Lodge, Chantillys on the Bay, Moorings and Room with a View. You can also enjoy the Fatumaru Bay seafront renovations to walk off your meal.

We were a bit reluctant as it looked from the outside like a pizza joint but this place was amazing. From when we walked in we had the best service. The food was amazing, we had pizza and pasta and loved it followed by amazing desert. They had live music when we were there and was great. For the quality was not hugely expensive.

Had dinner here. Food was good, nice atmosphere with good music playing. Cocktails very nice. Service was good...practice your French! Complimentary bread and butter. Not cheap, prices similar to other restaurants in the area. Location on the water was very nice. I had the fish of the day and the heart of Palm salad, all ok. Coffee excellent.

Loved the dancing we saw, a real highlight! Pizza was nice as was the steak but nothing special. No high chair for our toddler so we spent the whole meal taking turns chasing her around as she won't sit on us.

Nice ambiance but long wait, staff are smily and speaks english, french and bislama. Large choice and translated menus, the view at night looks like a scotish lake.
