stayed at room 1015 for 7 nights! NIce place to stay. Housekeeping is great and very helpful. room has lots of space though no view at all. carpet needed to be replaced as they are stained and looked dirty even after being vacuumed.More

We stayed at the Royal Hotel for two nights before flying back to Toronto.

Super small and tight room, way too tight for two people. It was a standard room so I’m sure you can get a larger room. There is a heated seat in the bathroom and that was pretty cool.

Exactly why we picked this place, it’s in the Center of the Myeongdong shopping district.

We got there around 12:30pm and were told come back at 2 because that’s when check-in starts. Ok that’s fine but the place is massive so I find it hard to believe they didn’t have a room ready.
When our room was ready we had to carry our own bags which I’m cool with but they have signs everywhere that it’s a ‘Michelin’ hotel so I thought they’d do more.

For the location the room is not a bad price. The food is grossly overpriced.
We were able to take a free shuttle to the airport provided by the hotel (~30 mins away) so that was nice but there are only two times per day (no exceptions).

We didn’t eat at the hotel because they only had a buffet breakfast and a 3 course dinner option. Neither we were willing to pay for given the really high price. Go get some Korean BBQ instead.
We did try the patisserie...The Mont Blanc Is insanely delicious!

We stayed here 10 days in a club room. The service checking in or out was very quick.there is no bellboy who deliver your luggage to your room. The rooms are very small in western standards, but we managed. Their restaurant on the 21st floor, served excellent food, but this Michilin star restaurant has the prices to equal quality food. There are hundreds of restaurants close by. The happy hour was early in comparison to other places in Asia, the food on offer was extraordinary and no need for dinner
afterwards. I can recommend this hotel and book a room with executiveprivilages, it is worth the extra

My stay with my wife at Royal Hotel Seoul was excellent, although the room is slightly small, we booked the room with access to the Executive Lounge. The lounge was fantastic, the light refreshments and drinks were great especially the happy hours with free flow of drinks and food. The bird eye view from the lounge is wonderful and the service is great. The location of the hotel is one of the best with direct access to the heart of Myeongdong.

In Seoul in business and did a mistake to book the Royal. Royal is for well off Asian tourist with kids and other noisy elements.
The lobby is really nice and One would hope that style. Was followed through in the bedrooms but they have not been refurbished for some years.
The service is okay but that is all.

Family of 3 adults. Royal Hotel in Myeongdong is in a very lively part of the city, centrally located. They offer a welcome soft drink upon arrival. But: very quiet inside! They do offer free airport transport, but limited times. When we arrived in Seoul (evening), we'd missed the free bus, so we took public bus 6015 from Gate 5B - which dropped us off at the corner, near the hotel. It cost Won 13,500 and took 40 minutes. We bought an 'AmazingPay' card (similar to Octopus Card in Hong Kong) for Won 50,000 each (including Won 4,000 fee) at the airport. We used it everywhere and you can top up at 7-11 and other outlets. Well worth it. The hotel also runs a free bus from 11am every morning around the city with 4 drop off points. The 'family room' was a squeeze :( - with the double bed being pushed up against the wall, but it was OK with all freebies, like percolated coffee, free water, hair dryer, slippers, bathrobes, etc., and a free 1/2 bottle of a nice red wine when we arrived. The hotel bar prices are expensive, given its' location - close to other bars and clubs. They should reduce their prices to be more competitive. Also, the breakfast was OK, but didn't have a fresh noodle section, which we had expected. We only ate there once. Overall, the hotel was clean (except the bedroom carpet), staff were lovely (but not always understood our English) … but was in a great location - with Myeongdong street stalls, street food (all delicious), local shops (H&M, Zara, Nike, Adidas, Uniqlo etc) and very close to good transport links around the City. I would recommend the Royal Hotel as a very convenient location with good services.
