Description: Mama knows best! PARC was founded in 2013 in the Hannam district of Seoul, which is the most international neighborhood of Korea's capital city. PARC, which translates to park in the famed romance language of Catalan, serves traditional Korean food inspired from authentic family recipes by owner Pak Mogua's mother, Heo Junghee, that have been passed down through generations of family. After 4 years of traveling the world, Pak realized the strong impact his mother's cooking had always had on him with its unique and genuine flavors. It was then when he decided to collect all of his mother's recipes to not only document for himself, but to also share with people he loved. In the summer of 2012, co-owners Pak Mogua and Oo Zeemin came up with the idea for PARC while sitting in what would eventually become the actual restaurant space. They designed PARC to be casual and affordable, and a friendly restaurant where everyone is welcome and can dine in comfort. PARC prides itself on serving authentic and homemade Korean dishes using the freshest ingredients with both modern and traditional cooking techniques. With a seasonal menu featuring the best of Korean cuisine, we hope you come and try our Korean Mother's Recipes & More. "Parc is my favourite restaurant in Seoul." -Sophie Hicks (Architect, London, UK dined more than 3 times) "This is very warm energy you have here." -Toni Alva (Legenday Skater, CA, USA dined twice)

I was thrilled that the concierge at the Hyatt suggested making a reservation for PARC as it is one of the only fantastic food places near the hotel. There is an English menu and English-speaking staff, but the food is authentic Korean. I forget the motto, but it was something like food your grandmother would cook in a hip atmosphere. That hit it perfectly. Great service. Good price. Excellent kimchi. Cool hip atmosphere.

Parc is a breath of fresh air in the Itaewon restaurant scene. It's located on a small street off the main street, at walking distance from Hangangjin subway station.
Reservations are recommended, although one can easily get a table by avoiding peak hours.
Food is delicious: fresh seasonal ingredients, and traditional recipes. By ordering a main dish, one gets also soup, rice and 3 banchans. Upgrades with omelettes, vegetables, noodles, pancakes, etc, are also available.
Drinks are a bit more expensive than average, but we couldn't resist the Monkey 47's gin and tonic.
Service is excellent: they guided us through the menu and were super friendly.

A simple, well designed contemporary restaurant around the corner from the Leeum Museum. The food is billed as 'Korean Mother's Recipes' and we had well proportioned, incredibly tasty food that I like to think is the secret weapon of many Korean mothers across the city. Fairly priced with very friendly staff that made us feel welcome, so much so that we had both a lunch and a dinner there during our few days in Seoul.

The menu changes every couple of days and was definitely more varied than some of the more immediate standard Korean options. Free refill on the sides too but the portions were generous enough that you won't be able to take them up on the offer.
