We stayed for a week at the Fairmont Cairo, Nile City in mid March 2011.
I travelled with my brother, his wife and our 80 year old father. My father is still reminiscing about his stay at the Fairmont Nile City.

The level of service was something above and beyond. Everyone we encountered in the staff from the concierge staff, the chef, the housekeeping, the security--just everyone-- was so very professional, incredibly kind and super helpful. The level of hospitality and professionalism at this hotel is something rare and special.

The rooms are very comfortable and have great views. The breakfast and food is delicious. I was particularly touched by how much they made all of us, but especially my elderly father feel right at home. It's an awesome hotel.

We will never forget this trip and the people we met. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks after the uprising in Cairo had resolved. It is beautiful and the staff were very obliging and friendly. The room was lovely and the beds extremely comfortable with sheets that were actually crisp! Unfortunately the pool was closed when we went to look at it as the hours of operation were reduced due to the low occupancy at the time, and the unpleasant odour from the Nile kept us off our balcony, but the food was delicious and we enjoyed one meal in the lounge with cocktails and another with excellent room service. The hotel is in the middle of Cairo but came through the unrest relatively unscathed, in large part due to its dedicated staff. Cairo is exciting and the hotel itself is exotic and lovely, right in the heart of the city. The hotel arranged for our tour guide, who was a young woman who did an excellent job of taking us to the sights, which we enjoyed even more since there was hardly any one else there. Great time to visit Egypt in my opinion, and highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Cairo.

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Nile.

We stayed at this hotel in December for 4 nights and returned for a further night before departing Egypt. The staff were fabulous - kind, caring, efficient and helpful. The rooms are lovely, spacious, spotlessly clean and so comfortable with stunning bathrooms . Possibly the only mild negative is that it's not particularly good for walking anywhere with no good restaurants/cafes etc. nearby. However, don't let this put you off staying here, just jump in a taxi, as we did. We love Cairo and this hotel was a definite highlight - a real treat! I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Cairo.

My husband and I went to Egypt for our honeymoon and booked Fairmont over the internet. The room and service exceeded our expectation and the website does not do justice to this hotel!!

We were upgraded to the Club level, and the staff gave us a surprise for our honeymoon stay...they decorated our room with candles and flower petals and left mocktails , a cake and card for us!! The service was splendid, and the room had a beautfiul view of the Nile. The bed was most comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious with different choices of bath oils.

Breakfast, high tea and night cap at the Club Floor are the works! A must stay for honey-mooners!!! We even had dinner at their french/vietnamese restaurant which was an enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Ask for the Nile view rooms

To make it very short: One of the best business hotels I ever stayed in. Excellent rooms, stunning views (if you get Nile-view), excellent food and service and very helpful and competent staff.
Cant add anything more except my utmost satisfaction with my stays there!

Room Tip: nile-view!
