We spent a lovely week at this hotel. security and all staff were welcoming . we had a room upgrade and were very impressed with the variety of traditional Egyptian and international meals available at all times for room service , at the different restaurants in the hotel and even at the pool. breakfast buffet was vastly immense, mostly traditional options but the live omelette station was a welcome treat. Spanish omelettes daily made infront of you. We were never asked to prove our marital status which I know other hotels in Cairo are sticklers for so check before you travel. The hotel had so many amenities in sure, even its own bureau did change which came in very handy so we travelled without money in UK pounds or euros changed 50 to 100 at the airport just for tipping en route especially our driver then throughout the week we could change little and often to use as we needed get as many five and 10 Egyptian pound notes as you can for tipping. As a general everyone who provide your service requires a tip which includes housekeeping but it’s money well spent as our room was spotless always with a fresh large bottle of water daily. Other amenities at the hotel include a small souvenir shop cafe sushi bar small gym and small spa which is split into men and women and many other things we only discovered unfortunately on the last day would recommend exploring the hotel internally when you arrive. The foyer is stunning! I’d recommend a travel guide for excursions. We used EMO tours Egypt from gettyourguide website and we can’t recommend them more highly! Especially a Ahmed! He was so knowledgeable and picked us up from the hotel and back everyday with snacks and a water included! I would only advise women ( this is through your visit to Cairo not just this hotel) to dress modestly with flowy clothes and arms and legs covered down to elbow and below knees if not fully covered. Female Tourists aren’t expected to wear head coverings but you will attract less unwanted looks if your clothing is not figure hugging. Cairo is not a beach resort weee locals are used to seeing bikini-clad tourists so for your own enjoyment., that’s my top tip. I’d avoid the jacuzzi personally and steam room smelt abit mouldy but other than that, had a great time and we would return. You can also settle your room service bill and any currency or credit card which is very handy on last day

We had booked to stay at this hotel, we decided to cancel it to lower costs, but cheap is expensive.
We booked in Capital Hotel, I wrote informing that we arrived at 4 a.m to which they responded that there was no problem. Upon arrival we were informed that they had occupied our room and that we should return the next day, can you imagine? Horror! 4 a.m. in Cairo!
We asked the driver to take us to Safir hotel. It was the best decision! A 5 star Hotel, very comfortable rooms, an incredible reception and an unbeatable deal. 10 point! The best? Breakfast and the nights next to the pool.

This hotel lies between Dokki Street and the Nile. The Nile is within 10 minutes walking and if you just cross the bridge and walk for 10 minutes more, you are right in front of the Egyptian museum.
The hotel itself has comfortable rooms, A nice breakfast buffet and the most friendly personel helping you.
As with every spot within Caïro, traffic is crowded, but as this hotel lies not directly on A main road it is one of the less crowded areas.
Have A look with Google maps to have A good look of the neighbourhood. And don’t forget the coffee bar Cilantro as it is directly connected to the hotel and serves excellent coffee !

Safir Hotel is a very comfortable hotel with courteous staff, clean, well furnished rooms, three restaurants which serve good food, a spacious lobby and good room service. Wifi is free and uninterrupted. Access to the hotel is through a congested street, but that is the only negative point. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Pool facing room is preferable.
