Hi,

I stayed at this hotel two nights in March whilst travelling Egypt- still here at present.

LOCATION:

The location of this hotel is good- walking distance from Luxor Temple and Luxor Museum (around 15 mins away walking along the river front). Shops nearby very cheap quite local. Also the train station isn't too far.

PLEASE NOTE- If you plan to get a train from Luxor to Cairo or Alex it is CHEAPER to fly. There is an EgyptAir ticket office right next to the Winter Palace. Plane tickets are cheaper and a lot faster- I flew from Luxor to Cairo.

Please be aware that people here are poorer in comparison to other parts of Egypt. Luxor is lovely but people do hound you and annoy whilst walking down the streets. If you are with Egyptians it is better to walk with them. OR put earphones in or over your ears then they leave you alone :)

HOTEL:

For two nights I could not complain. Cheap, clean and the pool and views of the Nile were amazing. The pool area is nice, clean and very relaxing. Not many tourists visit Luxor at present- you can have the hotel's and the temples to yourself at some point... you cannot get this anywhere else!

THINGS TO DO:

The list really is endless- Go on trip advisor and read the list of things to do in Luxor. Loads. I would recommend: Habu Temple, Luxor Temple, Luxor Museum, Karnak, Valley of the Kings (PLEASE NOTE YOU CANNOT TAKE PICTURES) and Hatshepsut's Temple- All amazing.

SECURITY:

I did feel safe. Travelled solo, noticed a lot of security. Even at Churches- had to walk through mental detectors- armed guards stationed all around- great job!

SUMMARY:

This hotel is cheap, clean and great value for money. There are not many direct flights to Luxor from the UK... BUT FLY TO HURGHADA then book a cheap transfer, gobus etc. Luxor is an open air museum for history lovers this place will always be number one. Nothing else compares to standing in Luxor or Karnak temple. I am in Cairo now and have seen historical monuments but LUXOR is simply breathtaking.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Happy holidays :)

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location is good and bad. Nothing is close by and you have to walk (not recommended due to the heat) or taxi. But it is right on the Nile and the pool overlooks the river. Pretty cool.

The basic price for bed and breakfast was acceptable, but there is not free wifi, no tea and coffee in the rooms, all beverages are at 5 star prices. Check-in and out were very slow, service of tea and coffee at breakfast was painfully slow. The Pizzeria Romance has not been open for many years. The Chinese restaurant in the garden has no bathroom so that one must cross the garden and use the bathroom in the main hotel. Only one lift was in operation. The room facilities were not suitable for using a computer. The television was an antique. Everything was extremely jaded.

The options for half board are a complete waste of money as the cost of dinner, while expensive, was much less than charged in the BB&EM pricing.

A much better bet, except for the Nile Views, is the Eatabe Hotel the other end of Luxor Temple. Similar standard but with less expensive food and much less expensive beverages. Even the pool os much better!

On the positive side, most of the staff were helpful. Room service replenished the supply of mosquitos in the room every day. And the Air-con and (empty) refrigerator functioned as expected.

Room Tip: Insist on Nile View, as high as possible

Nice hotel, just need to be refresh a little bit.
There is a normal continental breakfast with all that you need.
The swimming pool was a bit cold but nice. It's a little bit dangerous in a pool side when it's wet as it's slippery
