My travel agent booked this hotel for me whilst on business. You get what you pay for in Africa. There is either very good and very crap. Chester some how managed to creep just over the very crap. Very basic but surprisingly clean. Small TV, small bed, little hot water and bad shower, WiFi worked well first night but was gone second and third night. Uncomfortable furniture and bad decor. Breakfast was tasteless but sufficient to keep you going. Never tried the restaurant.
Place just has an old feel to it. Probably won't stay there again. Come on Chester you can do it!

I stayed at this city hotel on numerous occasions over the last year whilst on business in Nairobi. The hotel is dated but the rooms are large and comfortable. The rooms are spotless and well appointed. There are kitchens in each room that allow you to easily cater for your meal requirements. The hotel has good security and you feel safe whilst on the premises. The breakfast offering is basic but well prepared. The hotel offers good value for money whilst conducting business in the city center.

Room Tip: The larger suites are recommended

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. THe hotel consists of very spacious apartments that are however somewhat dated. Everything was however clean and functional and staff was very willing and tried their best. The hotel is situated very centrally in the CBD.

The value for money (if there is such a thing in Nairobi Hotels) is good in that one gets a clean and spacious apartment with basic hotel services and good security for just over USD 100. Don't expect a spotless environment or flawless service, as for that you will be paying a whole lot more…

Do look back to a comfortable stay with lots of space and friendly staff.

Room Tip: The higher the better - think that all rooms have private balconies.

This is a very nice serviced apartment, It is well located in the Centre of the CBD within walking distance of some nice eateries.

I was a bit concerned that many of the cooks were completely unaware of what the meaning of Halaal was - considering the number of international visitors to Chester House.

I also found the Wifi to be unreliable at best - Reporting the issue to IT usually got it resolved quite quickly - however it often went offline around 9 PM which resulted in no connectivity and the inability to get any sort of decent work done.

Being in the centre of town - I found this hotel to be constantly surrounded by noise - which is still apparent from the 8th floor!. On some days the Restaurant turns into a mini club and there is Deep bass music playing till the early hours of the morning.

Room Tip: Try and get a room as high up as possible to minimise the disturbance from the traffic and activity on the street below.

I love this place. It's a little older and there are always some snafus, but hey, this is Africa. But there's a sort of old world elegance to the place, something that you can feel rather than describe. It's a feeling of comfort and ease that I don't get at other places.
The rooms are huge - even the Studio rooms - so you can stretch out and unwind as you sit looking out over the city. I love the balcony! What a view!
And you are right downtown. Perfect location for whatever business you have in Nairobi.
The furniture could be nicer, but it's sufficient; the bathrooms could be more modern, but they work (mostly); the TV could be bigger and better, but I didn't come to watch TV. All in all, for a hundred bucks, it's not bad. The same price (actually more) at the Hilton puts you in a shoebox. Here you can stretch out like you were back home, and relax.
And isn't that what counts most?
