Well, just visit this place! The scenery is just out of this world. From the hills, the rotating turbine and you feel like you on top of Nairobi City... There's an activity there... Zip lining which is just amazing! The area is cold coz of the wind. There's a restaurant too... It's a nice place to spend a boring afternoon at.

Ngong hills is a great place to unwind yourselves and connect with nature. It is a series of the 7 small hills that one can hike in about 3-4 hrs from start to end and back. The beauty of the hills is that you can choose to hike what you'd like to - there are no strict starting and end points. You can start either from the entrance or drive up one hill and start as well. The top of the first few hills house windmills and is a great sight to behold. Obviously, it is very windy at the top - you may want to carry a light jacket with you. It is also a great place to picnic with your loved ones.

It is bicycle friendly too.

Although a little far from Nairobi city on the outskirts of town, Ngong Hills is a nice getaway to see the stunning views of the rolling green hills.

For lovers and tragics of the movie "Out of Africa", along with a visit to the Karen Blixen house and museum, a pilgrimage to the grave site of Denys Finch Hatton is thoroughly recommended. We hired a driver for a round trip to the grave site, for U$40, and about 4 hours. The location was not easy to find, and many of the locals, only vaguely having heard of it, cannot pinpoint the location. Out driver had to stop a number of times to ask for directions. As the crow flies, it is maybe 12 to 15 kilometers. Double that for your road journey.
Persevere, it is well worth the visit, whilst in the Nairobi area. The journey itself is interesting, offering a glimpse of towns and villages, and Kenyan life.
While the area may have been a prime safari hunting ground at the time of the story, a hundred years ago, since then, people have moved into the area, and seen the land carved up and cultivated. Vegetation and trees have proliferated. The view is now encumbered. Whilst you can no longer see the grave site from Karen's house, or Karen's house from the grave site, as in the story, you will still have the sense of how it must have been.
A young lady now owns the site, and lives in the property a few meters down the hill. She tends the site, and keeps it in a very respectful condition. Normally locked up, she will open it for you, and tell you some of the history of the site. Expect a small fee.

We spent about three hours walking up and down over several summits in a pastoral setting. The clean cool air was wonderful after breathing the diesel fumes in the city. Many families out for picnics
