I enjoyed 3 nights here while on safari and celebrating my birthday. My guide was able to get us upgraded to the Cottage Rooms and boy are they worth it. Huge suite the size of my apartment with river view and awesome indoor and outdoor faux cave waterfall showers. And the staff gave me a nice birthday cake while singing their version of 'Happy Birthday'. I recommend this lodge to everyone, though be prepared for the drive to and from the gate into the park. Not the best area. However, a small bridge that would allow direct entry into the park from the lodge is due to open later this year and that would bump up their rating to q 5 star.

Room tip: Worth it to splurge and upgrade to the cottage rooms

Dear AndraMarieM,

We are happy that you enjoyed your stay and thanks for strongly recommending Azure Mara Haven.

We are the newest and modern lodge on River Talek and we believe in exceeding expectations and thanks for your commendations.

Azure Mara Haven bridge will be commissioned soon to link the lodge with the park. It will remove the unpleasant drive to Talek gate and this will truly be a game changer. Thank you

My friends first safari and first time to Kenya was a great success. Amongst many things, this lodge got the thumbs up from everyone in the group. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent. They changed my room location to accommodate my injured foot and were very attentive from the start to the end of our stay. They took time out to get to know the group, making everyone feel very comfortable. Thank you very much to all at Azure!!!

Room tip: Mattresses in the rooms were great! The shower was amazing too.

The staff really needs training. Saw them throwing around a kid's soft toy which they had forgotten in the dining area. Really poor taste in customer service.

The cottages are not too great. C16 did not have any river view. The curtains were flimsy and did not provide any privacy.

The outdoor shower area was visible from the adjacent cottage: so please be careful using it. It is a horrible thing.

There was no mosquito net available.

The food was very limited and primarily Indian. The packed lunch had stale chicken item from last day, causing upset stomach.

Given the distance of 30 minutes to the gate of Masai Mara, there are certainly better options available at this price. Best avoided and was the worst of our trip in Kenya.

Only good thing was the Masai dance organised during one dinner.

We stayed in one of the cabins overlooking the river. We woke in the morning to see giraffe walking past around 100m away! All the food we had during our stay was excellent, and the drinks were reasonably priced. Access to hot water and wifi was limited but that really just added to a more authentic experience! All the service we received was excellent, with Dominick always going out of his way to ensure everything was ok.

The Azure Mara Haven is a nice place to stay! The place is bordering to the Masai Mara national park and the river. It is also close to the entrance of the park. The staff is very friendly and the food choices were ok.

If you are going for the full day game drive, they will provide you with lunch boxes.
