We went to Kenya on our honeymoon, and chose to to five days with safari in the Masai Mara before heading down to the coast. After recommandations from our travel agent, Basecamp Explorer was chosen. Didn't regret that! The people, the camps, food and the game drives (safari) was superb. They have five different camps, and we spent two nights at their mother camp (basecamp), one night at Wilderness and now night at Eagle view. I strongly recommend staying at more than one camp. The experience is totally different. There are so many animals, and the masai guides are really friendly and skillful. Special thanks to Ben and Dixon, great guys!
I wouldn't look anywhere else. This company (Norwegian owned) are also looking after the community around, and 95% of their staff are local masais. They also explained why Basecamp Explorer is the best safari company to work for. The food (always a three course meal) was very good, and the beds were really comfy. Thumbs up!
