“A good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2012

A good hotel which is very conveniently situated near two subway stations and within walking distance of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

The staff are also helpful (There was one particular gentlemen who went above and beyond to help us).

The rooms are also clean.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor rooms with forbidden city views!

We moved here after a horrifyng experience at the Hutong Inn ( please do not stay there- dormitory with musty smell, dirty linens, bedbugs, dirty neighborhood). Moving here is like moving from a 0 star hotel to a 4 star hotel. the room is very spacious, they have a coffeemaker and some coffee and tea available. They have a fridge, a work table, everything that you expect for a 3.5-4 star hotel. Lobby is big and clean, and nice. The only MAJOR problem that I have is that they automatically shut off the AC. We were there lasy )ct 21-23, and it is during the cold season - not too cold, maybe around 70F. I called to ask why the room's AC was not working. The reception told me the whole hotel shut off the AC during cold season. It was uncomfortable, and we don't want to open the windows because of the pollution. In beijing, the sky is gray due to pollution, and we don't want to smell the pollution while i am sleeping.
I have given you the pros , but I personally think the AC issue outweighed the pros.

The Hotel was perfectly located for a nice trip of Beijing & all itz beautiful attractions...Being a Vegetarian, B/f has never been a gr8 choice in this part of the world...the only irritating thing abt the place was the aircon which had no cooling as the entire unit was preset to work on fan as the weather was supposedly coldish..but shouldn't that prerogative lie with the guests & not the hotel to dictate the way a guest should stay in his room...we had no choice bt to open a half-opening window for the air-flow...though the outside weather was coldish..inside was more than warm for comfort...The rooms were excellent though & made up for a bit of undesirable warmness..
