I was taken by a friend and had a very pleasant evening meal. The place has a great atmosphere and serves a delicious set menu. Worth the visit.

This Prix Fixe menu makes life easier for a dinner with friends, relations or business associates. Only figure out what you wish to drink.

The intimate setting makes for a nice evening out. The food remains quite good and a nice series of dishes ensure something for everyone. The staff is pleasant and eager to please (though don't expect lots of English). Figure 400-500 RMB for 2.

Finding the restaurant is part of the fun. If you think you're lost, you're nearly there. Google Maps. From the busy street, go straight up the narrow lane 50-75 yards and at the first real left, turn left, in the evenings the small red lantern is the only sign of the restaurant.

Sadly, the Hutong area is now over run with commercial retail and mostly forgettable restaurants. Thankfully the Dali continues their original tradition. Have your hotel call for reservations.

Tip: 'ok maps' into your Google maps search bar to download a map of Beijing so you have familiar Google maps while traveling in the city.

The food was great!This is not a budget option the price per person set menu ¥150.It works out 2 dishes per person we couldn't finish all the food.So if you are 6 people you wil get approximately 12 different dishes to experience.

Lovely courtyard settings, romantic atmosphere, it feels special. However the food is very average Yunnanese. For 150 fixed menu it is not a good deal - especially for vegetarians (I asked for more food, they brought me scrambled eggs.. I left hungry.) There are plenty of Yunnanese restaurants in the vicinity, with better taste, albeit plainer looks. Better to book in advance, make sure you take the address in Chinese with you. Plus point is that the wine is good and not too overpriced for Beijing.
