Our family and tour group stayed in this hotel for two nights. Staff is excellent. Always smiling, very courteous, helpful and caring. Rooms are spaces, clean and provided with good linen and good AC with low noise. Breakfast is very good with ample variety for non-Chinese. We released that we forget to take the phone charger when we checkout so we came back to room withing one minute but it has gone. So be careful about you things here.

Room Tip: Rooms in the right side gives good panoramic view of area

I stayed at the Century Huatian Hotel in Beijing for three nights for a conference. My room was quite comfortable, although the hotel looks a little dated.

Hotel reception staff were typically friendly and welcoming. My room had been pre booked I was checked in very quickly and efficiently. Same with checkout. I always hate to say this, as language competence is a two-way street, but the staff spoke very little English. So my guess is the hotel is not accustomed to non-Chinese guests.

The room was large and with a nice bed, although a tad hard. I found it comfortable nonetheless. The shower too was large with a rain shower head.

There were tea and instant coffee facilities in the room. TV had a couple of western channels. Wifi was free but slow.

Breakfast was mainly a selection of Chinese dishes: veggies noodles, fruit and salad, for example. The coffee keeps coming and it was ok.

There's an interesting restaurant on the premises that served delicious noodles and egg plant. The ordering process is a little odd: small sample plates are laid out and you select your dishes. Only snag is that it's a little difficult to tell exactly what the dishes are.

This hotel did not have a gym or a pool. There was a park right outside the hotel that one could walk around ~800 steps per lap! There's also an adjacent people's park where local grown their own veggies. From the hotel it looks a little shady as a park. I walked through it a couple of times ind is felt quite safe: people jogging and locals tending to their crops!

Nearby are some local shops and restaurants.

The hotel is located near the summer palace but it's about 50 minutes from the airport--about a 150rmb fare.

Definitely a three star, maybe three and a half.

It was a good hotel, I can say luxury hotel, but around 15 years ago, I suppose. Rooms are large, really large comparing to European hotel with the same prices, bathroom is beautiful. Shower cabin with marble on walls and floor impressed me much. Bed was soft and relaxable. I also have a leather chair at working place. But feeling that hotel passed its best years could not leave me.
It was an intresting solution to create a good view from the window. My window was adressed into the inner space of building. But on every floor they create a glass floor with bamboo on it. So it was a simulation of green area in from of window,. It was nice.
There was not a lot of west food on breakfast. I could obtain only omlette/fried eggs and some sausages. All other were Chinise food.
Disadvantage is location of the hotel. It is far from the city center, but, in other hand, located in quite area. There is a large mall with restaurants and shops in ten minutes by walk.
Internet in rooms is provided via LAN cable and was not stable. But for free.
Service was very friendly.

I stayed at this hotel with my family. We stayed here as part of our tour of Beijing. The staff was friendly and the hotel was nice and clean. The only down side was the location of the hotel. There is not much around the neighbourhood. You must walk or take a taxi to get anywhere good. It's outside the center of Beijing.
Hotel internet price was really good. The hotel breakfast was buffet style and tasted really good. Definitely a hotel to consider.
